SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
The study utilized the total number of 206 college
students enrolled in a sampled private school in Quezon
City. Academic Year 2020 – 2021 coming from the
different programs, College of Education, College of
Criminology, College of Accountancy, College of
Business Administration, College of Entrepreneurship,
College of Psychology, and College of Tourism except for
the C.P.E students. 20% of the college students will be
selected and evaluated through online. The study will
be conducted in a sampled private school in Quezon
City. This research is design to know and at the same
time to enhance the used of social media in their study.
RESEARCH DESIGN
• Descriptive Research Design is a method that describe
the characteristic of population of the study.
• It focuses on what of the inquire about subject than
why.
• Fluet, (2021), stated that it may be a quantitative
strategy that is utilize to test particular theories and
depict characteristics.
• This study will then uncover details on “what is the
impact of social media” but not cover any investigate
information about quotation “ why the pattern exists?”
RESPONDENTS
Respondents are those persons who have been invited
to participate in a particular study by researchers and have
actually taken part in the study.
The population of the study will be comprised with the
total of 206 students of college coming from the different
programs, College of Education, College of Criminology,
College of Accountancy, College of Business Administration,
College of Entrepreneurship, College of Psychology, and
College of Tourism except for the C.P.E students. The
population of which 100% of them are officially enrolled
and also will be selected 20% of the students and will be
used as the respondents except for the two C.P.E students.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE/S
• Cluster Random Sampling a strategy of
probability that is frequently utilize to think
about population.
• Frey, (2018), stated that this method is
typically used when natural groups exists in
the population.
• It copy since the study intend certain
implication new normal.
INSTRUMENTS

• The researchers made utilize the survey

in gathering data. (Study Questionnaire)
CONSTRUCTION AND
VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENTS
The researchers read books, magazines, research
papers, theses and surfed data on the internet to
ripen concepts, frameworks, variables, and indicators
of the study which became the basis in the
construction of the questionnaire. Also, the
researchers collected information about the used
instrument through reading different related studies
both local and foreign on the internet and find
sources to the library that will help them to know the
validity of the instrument.
CONSTRUCTION AND
VALIDATION OF INSTRUMENTS
They make the questionnaire by replying to the
statement of the problem and of course, they
also consult their research adviser to know if
they need some revision to the questionnaire so
that the researchers could improve the
questionnaire and also in every program there
is one (1) validator from each program with the
total of seven (7) validators and seven (7)
programs.
ADMINISTRATION AND
RETRIEVAL AND INSTRUMENTS
• After considering the validity of the used instrument, the
researchers prepared the final draft of the questionnaire then
asked for approval from their research adviser, and also the
researchers made protocol letter to the respective personnel of
every department in college for the distribution of the
questionnaire to the college students and also for the School
President.
• The researchers distributed it to the respondents with the use of
google forms and waited for their response through g-mail. The
questionnaire was collected as soon as the respondents finished
answering the survey. The researchers are expecting and hoping
for 100% retrieval. And all the data will be gathered will be
treated with outmost confidentiality.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
• Frequency
1.   and Percentage Distribution
• This was used to relate a part of a whole in the total responses.
This is a numerical especially on frequency distribution.
Formula:
P = x 100
Where:
P = percentage
f = frequency
N = no. respondents
• The researchers used the Frequency and Percentage Distribution
in statement of the problem 1 and 2 to know how many
respondents, and also on what kind of social media platforms are
the most usable in their study.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
2. Ranking
• This was used to determine the arrangement of
responses for given variable to degree of the
importance as perceived by the respondents. The
equivalent point assigned to each item indicated
the extent of the existence of condition as
perceived by the respondents was determined by
estimating each weighted average which become
the verbal descript.
• The researchers used the Ranking in the statement
of the problem 1, 2, 3, and 5.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
• Weighted
3.   Mean
• To compute the data of respondents who used social media in
academic purposes weighted mean was applied.
• The collected data were categorized and were given corresponding
weights. The weight was multiplied by the number of replies in each
category to be added and then divided from the sum of the product.
Formula:
WM=
Where:
WM = weighted mean
Fw = sum of the products of the frequency
N = no. of respondents
• The researchers used the Weighted Mean in statement of the
problem 3 and 5.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
4. Four Point Likert Scale
• Likert scale is applied as one of the most fundamental
and frequently used psychometric tools in educational
and social sciences research. Simultaneously, it is also
subjected to a lot of debates and controversies in
regards with the analysis and inclusion of points on the
scale.
Each statement has four responses classified under
the level of frequency with weights 1, 2, 3, and 4. The
corresponding point assigned by estimating each
weighted average with the following equivalent verbal
description:
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
Numerical interpretation Verbal interpretation
3.26 - 4.0 4 Very High Extent
2.51 – 3.25 3 High Extent
1.76 – 2.50 2 Low Extent
1.00 – 1.75 1 Very Low Extent
• The researchers used the Four Point Likert scale in
statement of the problem 3 and 5.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
5. Kruskal Wallis Test
• The Kruskal Wallis test is the non-parametric
alternative to the One Way ANOVA. Non-
parametric means that the test doesn’t assume
your data comes from a particular distribution. The
H test is used when the assumptions for ANOVA
aren’t met (like the assumption of normality). It is
sometimes called the one-way ANOVA on ranks, as
the ranks of the data values are used in the test
rather than the actual data points.
STATISTICAL TREATMENT OF DATA
FORMULA:

The researchers used the Kruskal Wallis Test in

statement of the problem 4.
