REFLECTION PAPER: BUWAN NG WIKA 2019

Last August 28, 2019 was our annual celebration of the Buwan ng Wika
with the theme “Wikang Katutubo tungo sa isang bansang Filipino. We had so
much fun for we were able to play “mga larong pinoy” just like the halas-halas,
takarang, wati-wati and pokpok palayok. As a grade-12 student, I was very
overwhelmed because we won 2 among the 4 Larong Pinoy we played. The
school was filled with laughter as everyone enjoyed the Larong Pinoy. In the
afternoon, everyone was preparing and grooming themselves well for it was also
our Awarding Ceremony for Outstanding Students in the 1st Grading period. I was
very happy for the achievement of our section because all of us got into the
honour’s list and seeing the happy faces of our parents made me even happier.
But personally speaking, I agree that grades don’t really define who we are or
what we can be in the future. With honours or not, everybody deserves to be
congratulated for surviving the first 3 months of school. Going back to this years’
celebration of the Buwan ng Wika, everybody enjoyed the event because aside
from giving awards, each grade level also showcased their talents. I also learned a
lot with the speech given by our speaker, Mr. Kendrik M. Kitane who was also a
former siascian. Though I was really tired when I arrived at home and had muscle
pains when I woke up the next morning but through celebrating the Buwan ng
Wikang Pambansa last august, we were able to show how rich our culture is, how
we celebrate our heritage and identity through our languages as a Siascian and
how proud we are as Pinoys.

REFLECTION PAPER: JOINT BSP/GSP DAY CAMP 2019

SCOUTING. One word but it gives you so much memories starting from
when you first joined scouting till the present. It might just be a word to others
but to most of us, scouting is very meaningful. Last August 30, 2019 was our joint
BSP/GSP Day Camp. I can see the carved smiles in every faces of the students in
school for it is one of the most awaited activities for every student in SSHS. It is
the time of the year where students are stressed-free and everybody is excited to
meet new friends and for the different activities we will be participating. That
day, everybody was very ecstatic for we have lots of fun and enjoying activities.
Before proceeding to the survival activities the juniors and us seniors shouted our
yells with glee. In our survival activity, the boy and rover scouts cooked rice using
a bamboo and the girls scouts and cadets cooked chicken by using the improvised
oven and also cooked eggs any way we like. While others are still not finished
cooking, each patrol were called to present their talents. Then in the afternoon,
the first activity was arts and crafts were we made a wallet out of empty rappers
and then the second activity was the most awaited part of the day camp which is
the challenge valley. I know for sure that everybody really enjoyed the challenge
valley even though we were really dirty after the course. Our body and faces were
really muddy but it did not matter to us because we really to the core enjoyed it.
But, at some point it saddened me thinking that it will be my last day camp
because months from now I’ll be saying good bye to my alma mater. The fun I
experienced in my scouting years wouldn’t be the same in college that’s why I
savoured every moment and captured many pictures that day because I know
that I may not experience this anymore but I’ll be bringing with me the memories
I made during this event. I’ll be forever bring with me the lessons I learned
through scouting.
