The Three
Daoic Religion
There are three Daoic Religion – Confucianism, Daoism and Shinto.

There is no God in Confucianism. Their place of origin is in China. The


prophet or founder of Confucianism is Confucius. Their sacred scripture is
Five Classics and Four Rites. The practices and beliefs of Confucianism are
Cultivation of Virtue, The 2 Major Doctrines, Rectification of Names, Concept
of Human Nature and The Five Classical Virtues. Their issues are Female
Subordination, Authoritarianism, Environmental Ethics. The destiny of
Confucianism is to focus on the inner sphere. Their purpose is to reach one’s
highest potential .

Same with Confucianism, there is also no God in Daoism. Their place of


origin is also same with Confucianism, it is in China. The prophet or founder
of Daoism is Lao-Tzu. Their sacred scripture is Tao-Te-Ching. The practices
and beliefs of Daoism are The Dao, The De, Wuwei, Qi/Chi. Their issues are
Fatalism, Superstition and Urban Development. The destiny of Daoism is to
develop oneself through self-cultivation. Their purpose is to ensure order
and harmony are maintain by being aligned with nature.

The God of Shinto is Kami. Their place of origin is Japan. They don’t have
prophet or founder. Their sacred scripture is Kojiki ang Nihongi. The
practices and beliefs of Shinto are Ritual Purification, Amulets, Kagura –
ritual dance, Nature and Maintaining own characteristics. Their issues are
Vehicle Patriotism and Shrine visits Prime Minister. The destiny of Shinto is
to follow mission through purification. Their purpose is to return to original
self being purified.
