You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para
las descripciones. La primera ha sido hecha como ejemplo.

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

Rome is the capital of Italy, the
city has a population of about
2.9 million inhabitants, Rome is
also known as the birthplace of
the Roman Empire is a
mysterious city. In the course of
its history, spanning three
millennia, it extended its
dominions over the entire
Mediterranean basin and much
of Europe. also we can see in
the image the square of San
Pedro that belongs to city of the
Vatican one of the smaller
countries of the world and center
of the Christian religion.
Sydney is the most populous city
in Australia. Its located in
Australia’s east coast. In the
picture can also be observed
The Sydney Opera House,
considered one of the wonders
of the modern world, is a
magnificent building, which
stands as an icon of Australia in
one of the most beautiful bays in
the country. If you look closely
you will see in its architectural
lines a boat sailing at full power.
But its architect, the Danish Jørn
Utzon, was ahead of its time in
designing a modernist building,
with its roofs similar to enormous
white shells, covered with 1,056
million tiles made in Sweden
bright white and cream.
 Edinburgh is the capitalScotland,
and it is the secund most
populous city in Scotland. The
city has long been known a
centre of education, particularly
in the fields of medicine.
Scotland has a lot of mountains
and hills to people who likes to
go hiking. In the picture you can
see also the Edinburg castle, it is
a historic fortress which
dominates the skinline of the city
of Edinburgh.

Dubai is an emirate city, capital

of the emirate of the same
name, one of the seven United
Arab Emirates. The city has a lot
of the moderns buildings, Dubai
is located in the Arabian Desert.
In the picture you can see also
The Burj Khalifa is a skyscraper
located in Dubai. With 828
meters of height, it is the highest
structure of which is recorded in
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj history.
