Okay…today we have to learn about the simple
past form of the verb.All you have to do is to
listen very well and participate the activities I
have prepared for all of you today…I’m sure you’ll
enjoy and learn a lot!!! With out much a do! Let’s

We form the past


tense of the verbs in
different ways.
These are:

1. by adding –ed
examples:
walk = walked
talk = talked
wait = waited
2. by changing –d to action
words that end in –e
examples:
care = cared
love = loved
bake = baked

3. by changing y to i before
adding –ed
examples:
study = studied
` bury = buried
`

reply = replied

4. by doubling the last


consonant before adding –ed
examples:
scrub = scrubbed
rub = rubbed
flap = flapped
