Plain Bearing Shells

Type G

RENK plain bearing shells for

transmissions, pumps and
other applications have been
designed for greatest efficien
cy and economy; they con
form to the latest technologies
i. e. they are precision made
using the most uptodate
machinery. They feature
dimensionally stable bodies
incorporating optimal oil supp
ly grooves and pockets.
By combining two bore
diameters in one bearing shell
size, shaft diameters can be
changed without modifying
the seat of a shell in the
machine housing.
The width of the running sur
face can be divided into three
groups:
short B/D = 0,5
medium B/D = 0,75
long B/D = 1,0
In each case the ratios B/D

The thrust faces can be provided with lubricating grooves
or, in the case of higher loads, with taper land faces.
Type K, same as B, is suitable for rotation in both directions.
Type L should be chosen for lefthand rotation, type R
for righthand rotation (viewed in the direction of arrow A
on the bearings running surface). The thrust face on the
reverse is correspondingly arranged for the same
Type K Type B direction of rotation.
If the direction of rotation and direction of thrust
change simultaneously, detailed information concerning
the design of the thrust faces should be supplied
(with enquiries and orders).
Types L and R respectively refer to the thrust face viewed
in the direction of arrrow A.
