Reflection:

One unique experience I have had at SUNY Cortland is my field experience at the middle
and high school levels. These two weeks were truly an amazing experience as I was able to
observe and learn from experienced physical education teachers. Observing both of these
teachers allowed me to continue my professional growth as an individual and establish
connections with both of these schools. During my experience I had the opportunity to assist my
host teacher in lessons such as flag football and working out in the weight room. Through this I
gained valuable knowledge on how to run and manage the classes. Some skills that I worked on
during my field experience were communication skills with students and faculty and
professionalism between other teachers and staff. Overall this field experience helped me grow
as an individual and as a teacher/educator too. The skills and knowledge that I was able to take
away from my field experience will help throughout my entire professional career.
