Health-Related Fitness

Component 2.B: Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of fitness throughout the
program

Artifact: FitnessGram Report

Date: Fall 2019

Reflection:

In PED 382: School Based Fitness Programing I assessed my fitness levels. Over the
course of the semester we had to assess ourselves twice, once in the beginning and once at the
end. At the end of the semester we had to compare our results to see if we had any improvement
from start to end. This was great exposure for my professional development as I now have the
experience of using the FitnessGram in a school setting.

The FitnessGram tests relates to Component 2.B because it sets a standard/goal for
students to achieve in order to live a healthy lifestyle. This is important to a physical education
curriculum so students can learn about healthy fitness zones and be motivated to achieve them
and become the best they can possibly be. If students learn about FitnessGram at young age they
will be prepared for life-long fitness.
