Component 2.b: Achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of


fitness throughout the program.

Artifact: Personal physical activity log

Reflection:

My personal fitness levels were tested in PED 282 Health Related


Physical Fitness. The health-related fitness components that were
addressed and assessed were muscular endurance, muscular strength,
cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.

The personal physical activity log relates to element 2.b in the following
manner. Testing and continuing with this activity log over the past 3
years to work on these 5 areas of health-related fitness directly correlates
to the goal of achieving and maintaining a health-enhancing level of
fitness throughout the program at Cortland.

Maintaining a health-enhancing level of fitness is important for a


physical educator because if students want to understand how important
staying healthy in different ways is, they will want the teacher to be
knowledgeable and also practicing what they are teaching. This helps the
students identify with the teachers and can also share common fitness
goals with classmates.
