Artifact: PED 321: Movement Education Fundamental Movement Skills Certificate

Date: Fall 2019

The article I am using for Standard two is from my PED movement education class where we
were tested on the 16 fundamental movement skills. We had to go through each skill and show that
we knew how to complete each skill at a proficient level. We had to achieve at least an 80% on the
test to pass. This test was used because it is important for us as teachers to be able to perform each
skill in order to be able to teach it.

This artifact relates to the Standard two because Standard two states that we as the
physically literate individual can demonstrate a skillful performance of each skill. By doing this test
and passing it we show that we are able to skillfully perform each skill. The artifact perfectly relates
to component 2a because the component says that we are able to show competency in all
fundamental motor skills. The test links with the Standard and it shows potential employers that we
can teach each skill.

This artifact is important to me because having completed these skills it shows that I have
competency in each skill, and I can successfully teach them to my students. Having passed the test
also gave me the confidence that I needed to show that I can teach these skills and teach them well.
PED 321 was a great class where I really learned about myself and grew so much as a future teacher.
The skill test is very important to my development because I need to know how to do each skill
before I can teach it to my students.
