3. Explain in two or three sentences why you have chosen this article.

I am interested in this article, this article contains about emotional intelligence research. emotional
intelligence is very important because it helps us to control ourselves, so it is very important to understand
it. the research in this article is very interesting because it can find out human characters based on
marsmallow challenge. this article is also interesting because it discusses the influence of emotional
intelligence on success.

4. Explain briefly in four or five sentences what the article is about.

This article contains about emotional intelligence research conducted by a psychologist named Daniel
Goleman. he states emotional intelligence is more important than IQ in determining success. Daniel
Goleman experimented with calling a 4-year-old boy to Stanford's room, they were given marsmallows by
a man, the man said that they could eat marshmallows immediately, or wait for him to return from an
assignment, at which point they would get two. what happens is that some children do not eat and about
one third of children eat marshmallows directly. 12 years later they are tested again as teenagers, the
difference is dramatic, children who refuse to eat and delay gratification are more socially competent than
others, they are more confident, who eat marshmallows tend to stay away from social contracts, stubborn
and indecisive. but the good news is emotional intelligence can be learned because emotional intelligence
in the amygdala takes a long time to mature, about fifteen or sixteen years

the author shows that emotional intelligence is very important and influences life, people who have
emotional intelligence have mature personalities. they have self-confidence, self-awareness, self-
regulation, self-motivation, empathy, hope, and optimism. that's why they can be more successful in life

6. Give your personal comment on the article as a conclusion of your article review.
This article is very good, because opening up a view of success is not always a matter of IQ, but also how
we manage our emotions. because emotions like self-confidence, optimism is what drives us more to
success
