ADDITION WITH INTEGERS

 Adding two positive integers always yields a positive sum.
 Adding two negative integers always yields a negative sum.
 To find the sum of a positive and a negative integer, subtract and copy the sign of a bigger
number.
Example:
1) 7+___=0 2) ___+4=(-2) 3) (-3)+2=___
4) 3+___=1 5) (-8)+___=0 6)
7) (-7)+ 8) 9)

a) (-7)+___=3
b) ___+3=(-6)
c) 3+___=4
d) ___+(-2)=(-5)
Subtraction with integers
 If both signs are positive, the answer will be positive.
 If both signs are negative, the answer will be negative
 If the signs are different subtract, copy the sign of the bigger number.
Compare these differences and sums
1) 8-2 and 8+(-2)
2) 5-5 and 5+(-5)
3) 12-3 and 12+(-3)
4) 6-4 and 6+(-4)
5) 3-1 and 3+(-1)
Perform the ff. Subtractions
a) (-7)-6=
b) 4-(-6)=
c) 7-4=
d) 2-8=
e) (-3)-(-8)=
f) (-1)-(-15)=
g) 47-(-100)=
h) -246-345=
i) 30-125=
