task especially for female like using angle grinder and carrying heavy equipment such as metal

because male are generally stronger than female. The relationship between performance and

gender is that both genders do performed welding and grinding metal but male finish their task

quickly than females.

Research Questions:

This research is conducted on basis of these research question

1. What is the profile of the respondents in terms of the following?

1.1 Gender

1.2 Age

2 Is there significant relationship between age and performance

3 What are the effects of gender in the performance of students?

Scope and delimitations:

Utilizing a cross-Sectional quantitative research design, 20 participants took part in the

study. Of the population. 10 were male and 10 were female. Participants were randomly selected

in which we choose students whom we think can answer our survey question properly that is

connected to their experienced. We randomly selected with the participation of exclusively grade

12 students, section IA5 and IA6 SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), at most 10 students per

class. On purpose, majority of the participants were grade 12 students between age 17 to 20 years

and above in
SMAW Students Profile

Gender

Table 1: Profile of respondents in term of gender

Gender Frequency Relative frequency

Male 10 50%

Female 10 50%

Total 20 100%

Table 1 shows the profile of the SMAW Students in terms of gender wherein the

respondents were composed of twenty (20) SMAW Students (10) males and eight (10) females.

Therefore, both genders are equally registered.

Age

Table 2. Profile of respondents in terms of age

Age Frequency Relative frequency

21-22 4 20%

19-20 6 30%

17-18 10 50%

Total 20 100%

Table 2 above shows the profile of the SMAW Students by age. Aged twenty 0ne to twenty two

(21-22) is composed of four (4) SMAW Students respondents with the average of twenty (20)
percent. Aged nineteen to twenty (19-20) is composed of six (6) SMAW Students respondents

with the average of (30) percent. Aged seventeen to eighteen (17-18) is composed of ten (10)

SMAW Students respondents with the average of fifty (50) percent. Therefore, it further shows

that the age of respondents are more common of age of seventeen to eighteen (17-18).
Summary of Findings

1. Profile

1.1. Gender

There is a significant correlation on gender and performance of grade 12 Shielded Metal

Arc Welding Students in Biñan City Senior High School-San Antonio Campus.

1.2. Age

There is a significant correlation on Age and performance of grade 12 Shielded Metal Arc

Welding Students in Biñan City Senior High School-San Antonio Campus.

Conclusion

The researcher concluded that the personal profile of the SMAW students has a relationship

and actual performance in terms of gender. Moreover, it could affect the relationship of SMAW

student with regards to the personal profile. As how gender of SMAW students affect the

performance of SMAW students. Therefore, the researchers had concluded that gender has a

relationship between the actual performances. Based on the statistical data of the researcher (4.50)

Four point fifty is the result and its mean it`s has a relationship between gender and performance.

Recommendations

Base on the conclusions made, the following recommendations are made:

1. Students- the purpose of this research is to give ideas on how will they perform grinding

continuously and welding safely.

2. Teachers- this study will help the teachers to implement new suitable method of teaching.

It will also help them have insight into some factors affecting the student’s persistence level

in terms of performing grinding and welding.

3. Future Researcher- this research will help the future researchers by giving related study

about the correlation on gender and performance of student welder.
