Types of Body

There are Three (3) basic human body types. Body type vary from person to person. Large, Small,

thin or Round. Some peoples maybe tall and some maybe short. Other maybe slim or fuller in

shape. The bottom line is that people come in all shapes and sizes. The physical makeup of one’s

body is called their body type.

There are Three (3) basic human body types.

1. Ectomorph

2. Mesomorph

3. Endomorph

1. Ectomorph

Lean and long, with difficulty building muscle.

2. Mesomorph

Muscular and well-built, with a high metabolism and responsive muscle cells.

3. Endomorph

Big, high body fat, often pear – shaped, with a high tendency to store body fat.

Individual difference between in body types

Mesomorph

Mesomorph are typically strong and solid, not overweight or underweight. Their bodies described

as rectangular in shape with an upright posture. Maybe Muscular chest and shoulder

Large heart

Muscular arms and legs

 Even weight distribution

Ectomorph

 muscle size, their necks and forearms tend to be longer

 Tanner bones than average

 Energy reserves Predominately liner

 Poor capacity for large for high intensity anaerobic work is low

 Fast metabolism

 May (but not always) tend to have a lower blood pressure than the other 2 body

types.

Endomorph

 Predominately width

 Moderate to large capacity for muscle size, their neck tends to be shorter and their

heads large

 Shorter bones than average heavier on the scale

 They excel at sports where short bursts of power are needed. They also tend to be

stronger than average

 Slower metabolism
