Online Proctoring – Candidate Journey

Introduction
Online proctoring allows you to take exams at your convenience, while insuring the integrity of the exam
results. The rules governing a specific exam’s administration can vary from test publisher to publisher.
This response describes the candidate’s experience with online proctoring.

Authorization
First, you will need to be authorized by the test publisher to take the exam. This typically happens when
a candidate purchases access to the exam through an e-commerce transaction or uses an exam voucher,
that can be redeemed in lieu of a credit card purchase.

You will need to have purchased an exam subscription from the SAP Training Shop at
https://training.sap.com.

Scheduling
Second, once you are authorized to take the exam, you will schedule your proctoring appointment. To
schedule your appointment, log into the SAP Training Shop and use the main menu to “Access
purchased subscriptions.” Next, from the “Access SAP Subscription” page, click on the button labeled
“Access SAP Cloud Certification.” This will sign you into the Certification Hub using your SAP identity.

Once you are in the Certification Hub, browse to “Exam Dashboard” and click on the “Schedule an
exam” button. This will reveal the list of exams available to your subscription.

You can select a date and time of day convenient for you. Upon saving your appointment you will
receive an e-mail confirming the appointment that includes further instructions.

Important: Ensure that you have set your time zone accordingly, before scheduling your appointment.

Starting Exam Appointment

At the time of your appointment, log into the Certification Hub and browse to “Exam
Appointments.” Your appointment will appear on the under “Exam Appointments,” on the “online”
tab. A launch link will be enabled on this page 15 minutes prior to your appointment. Click on the
launch link to initiate your exam appointment, this will open the proctoring system in a new window.
Options available depend on status of the
authorization and exam appointment.
Launch link only appears at the time of
the appointment.

Connecting with Proctor

At this point, you will follow the on-screen prompts, which will allow you to connect with the
proctor. Proctor initiates web conference and authentication procedure at this point.

Authenticating Candidate and Inspecting Test Environment

The proctor will expect you to furnish the identification documents required by the test publisher. The
proctor will also expect you to use your webcam, so the proctor can inspect the security of your test-
taking environment and can ensure the security and integrity of the exam.

The proctor enables Next button only after verifying your ID and environment.

Candidate Agreements
Next, you will be presented with candidate agreements. You are required to agree to all
acknowledgements, terms and conditions of the exam as configured by the test publisher.

Begin Exam
After consenting to the candidate agreements, proctor will enable “Begin Exam” link.

On clicking “Begin Exam” link, Exam Lobby opens in new window. Depending on how browser is
configured, candidate may need to confirm that browser should open Questionmark Secure.

Downloading and Installing Questionmark Secure

Questionmark Secure will automatically start if it’s installed. If not, the candidate can download and
install it following the on-screen prompts.

Closing Prohibited Applications

Once Questionmark Secure is installed, click "Launch". This will invoke a webpage that requires
Questionmark Secure and if installed, display the version. You may need to close prohibited applications
before you can launch the exam. Common prohibited applications include: Outlook, Skype for Business
(Lync), GoToMeeting, and SnagIT.

Starting the Exam in Questionmark Secure

Questionmark Secure will run in full-screen mode. The exam is still locked at this point. The Start Exam
button will remain disabled, until the proctor unlocks the exam using the Questionmark Proctoring
controls.

Taking Exam
After the proctor unlocks the exam, the Start Exam button is enabled, and you can launch the exam.

The proctor will monitor you through real-time audio/video as you take the exam. The proctor can
pause or terminate your exam if you are not following the rules.

You may speak to the proctor, if necessary, at any time during the exam.

The real-time communication with the proctor is accomplished using a Zoom meeting. Zoom is a web
conferencing application, and you'll be prompted to install or run it in the process of connecting with the
proctor. You don't have to install it ahead of time.
