● Learned a lot from this class, there was always a positive engaging class even when it
was lecture heavy. Loved Dr. B!
● I really enjoyed the course and the instructor. It was very interactive and I gained a lot
both professionally and personally from it.
● I really enjoyed this class and feel like I have learned a lot I can use in my future
classroom.
● Overall I felt the environment of the classroom helped me because the teacher was
herself and that helped me feel at home and made her approachable. I would take a class
by her again.
 ● I think Dr. B is put in an uncomfortable situation teaching culture to white kids, but she
does it really well and this course fit her.
● Because of this course and Dr. B’s teaching, I developed a passion for education and for
using my voice to make a change and to teach kids and help them love learning.
● I would love to take another course taught by Dr. B!
● I loved this professor and wish she would teach all of my courses. She was an extremely
tough grader.
● Instructor is phenomenal. If she could teach any other of my classes, I would choose her.
She provides direct, clear instruction and phenomenal feedback.
● Dr. B is super cool and funny, probably one of my favorite and most memorable Profs.
I’ve had since being at ISU.
● Dr. B has been my favorite professor by far all time. She creates such an inviting
environment where we can explore and take risk. Everything we do is relevant to the
class and real life. Dr. B makes me want to come to class every day, without her I think I
hot nearly as prepared to teach in urban education.
● Dr. B was very helpful throughout the semester. She gave great feedback and made the
course very enjoyable.
● Dr. B always makes class fun and relatable! I am never bored in her class!

● Thank you making this course so interesting and fun! I always looked forward to coming
to class and I feel that I am a much better pre-service teacher because of the ways you
made me think.
● This has been the most valuable class I have taken at ISU so far. Dr. B went above and
beyond teaching content I truly will utilize in my future classroom.
● Love! Dr. B is awesome. It’s great to have a teacher that culturally understands me and
my background.
● Dr. B was available and willing to meet, and wanted to provide class instruction.
● Dr. B has truly provided me with a plethora of tools to go out and teach diverse groups of
students confidently. She is incredibly engaging, dynamic, and real… something that is
not always easy to find in professor 10/10 best/ most memorable class I’ve taken thus far.

● This course should be taken by everyone getting their teaching license. Whether you want
to work in an urban setting or not the information is necessary for teaching an authentic
culturally relevant reflective lesson.
● I very much enjoyed this course. I thought that all the lessons were very beneficial and
taught me how to handle real life teaching situations. I also liked that this course helped
us teach lessons in different subjects in ways to benefit every child.
● Enjoyable course, very personable instructor. A lot of useful information was learned.
 ● This course was very helpful to my future career. It sometimes became confusing to being
in different TCH 205 classes.
● Dr. B is phenomenal such a dedicated and committed professor. She genuinely knows her
lesson and really outshines all professors I had before her.

● Dr. B is one of the best professors I’ve ever had, strongly recommend her.

● Dr. B is fantastic teacher. I always enjoyed coming to her class.
● Amazing instructor. Learned so much in this course that I will be using in my classroom
on day. Her teaching enthusiasm and grading were all great. Always felt like I was
growing and wanted in her classroom.

● She did a great job of fostering collaboration by allowing lots of opportunities to discuss
and share ideas with our peers but at the same time, the assignment gave lots of
opportunity for independent learning.
● Dr. B’s class showed me a whole side to teaching that I previously didn’t understand.
The experiences in the classroom that she shared with us made the course information
extremely credible and it is content that I know I will need to be a successful future
teacher.
● I love Dr. B! She is always positive, understanding and encouraging! At some points she
can be a touch clearer about why she grades the way she does. Sometimes it feels like she
doesn’t give 100% just for the sake of not giving 100%. However, I love her teaching
style and I’m glad to have her as a professor.

● The most rewarding and eye opening experience of my college career.

● I have loved every aspect of this experience.

comfort zone in order to be better teacher.
● The class was hands down. The greatest class I’ve taken at ISU!
● This is the favorite professor in the University I have learned an abundance of
information, want to take her class again.

● Both Dr. B and Dr. Quast were very helpful during my clinical!
● I enjoyed every minute of class and Dr. B honestly set the mood for it. Even though I was
in different 204-08 from my 05 she always went out of her way for me! Amazing
instructor.
