• Chapter 2 – Project Life Cycle and Organizations

– These chapters should be read first once, as they give the basic definition of the PM
Framework, and once later

• Chapter 3

– Page 47 to Page 60 – Read twice with Slide 19, 14, 15, 16,17, and18 and Draw the flow
diagram on Slide 19

• This provides the top level view of interaction of PM Process Groups

– Read Page 417 – 461 twice

• This will provide you with an understanding of why each of the processes in
PMBOK® Guide Framework are performed

– Read Page 417 – 461 twice and make the Large Flow diagrams ( one showing all
processes of Initiating and Planning and other showing processes of Executing,
Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing

– Proceed to the next step only after the Flow and Logic of the above is clear

• Chapter 4 to Chapter 12

• Read twice, but in the vertical sequence of process on Page 43

– Read 4.1, 10.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 and so on

• Read Glossary of terms – twice

• Read HR Topics – twice

• Read Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct – twice

– Now, attempt questions in standard books available to PMI Members on Knowledge
