Epigeum Online Course: Avoiding Plagiarism (Indian Edition) What Is Plagiarism?
What is plagiarism?
Plagiarism involves copying or incorporating someone else's work or ideas without
acknowledging the author. In effect, it is presenting someone else's work as your own. In
other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud. It involves both stealing someone else's work, failing
to put a quotation in quotation marks, changing words but copying the sentence structure of
a source without giving credit.
