Cost of the Project - 1 Crore ( civil ) , 50 Lakh ( Interior & landscape )
Built up area - 650 Sq.M. ( 7000 Sq.Ft.)

Description of the Project:

An senior artist & his commercial artist daughter approached us to fulfil their
dream, A weekend home & studio with multipurpose space for art activities.
Gradual Contoured site of 1 acre in outskirts of Pune, with a existing pond &
beautiful skyline of hills around was our canvas.
We drawn a V shaped Plan with 32’ span 22’ high entrance arch from ground
floor to first floor allowed inner spaces to reconnect outer at broader but arch-
framed perspective. A dead wall coming out from the arch separates personal
spaces at the same time forces us towards entrance & frames inner view. A
focused entry leads to Ganesha statue & skylight above . A single sloping Roof
allowed only a conical dome to come out of it. Huge cantilevered roof, arch &
the dead wall gave monumental feel when we reaches at Entrance.

Materials & Construction Details:

15” thick load bearing Lateride stone walls, rat-trap bond cavity walls, filler
slabs, use of local bricks-stone, arches, vaults, domes, etc. made the structure not
only cost effective & energy efficient but also sensitive to the climate. Hot air
exhausts through slits & roof, allows cool air to enter in house from low level
windows. The client is happy that they doesn’t require fans also in summer, Can
save on electricity bills for whole life. They can also enjoy load-shedding. It
feels like the home is breathing through its spaces which makes this HOME
ALIVE.

Special Features:
Innovation and transferability – Progress
Re-inventing the tradition will be a easy & permanent solution for most of the
problems which building industry is facing today. It will be truly GREEN
solution instead of today’s complex technological eco-friendliness.
Ethical standards and social equity - People
We are working with the same good intention of serving the society and also
propagating sustainability. Our inspirations were and are traditional wisdom
long forgotten by the so called professionals.
Environmental quality and resource efficiency - Planet
Energy and resource consumption is often propelled by a false notion of
progress. A growing economy cannot be sustainable if the idea of development
is synonymous with that of over-consumption. Most of the building activity in
India uses high energy consuming materials like R.C.C and glass. Gandhiji’s
ideal house would use local materials and constructed with vernacular
techniques. The project respects these values.
Economic performance and compatibility – Prosperity
A scrutiny of how, where and what is spent is a simple technique that we adopt.
We feel GREEN BUILDINGS can’t be costlier because cost is directly
proportional to energy. We are proud to prove it in many projects. We have
received our awards on clients faces.
Contextual and aesthetic impact - Proficiency
SIMPLICITY IS ALWAYS MOST ADMIRED THING IN WORLD.
The Projects simplicity is in its form, colour & material. The structure itself
shapes the form & doesn’t need any cosmetics. Mostly Timeless architecture is
said for old (traditional) architecture.
And we are the children going hand in hands with the parents. OLD IS GOLD.
