Semi- Detailed Lesson Plan in MAPEH 9

I. Objectives:
a. describe what is community health and environmental health;
b. enumerate the characteristics of a healthy community;
c. draw an ideal community; and
d. appreciate the impact of having a healthy community.

II. Subject Matter: The Concepts of Community and Environmental Health


Reference: P.E. & Health 9 (Teacher’s Guide)
Materials: Visual aids, manila paper, strips of paper, puzzles, illustration board, crayons,
pencil, fact sheets, markers, A4 sized bond paper

III. Procedure:

A. Preparatory Activities

 Prayer
 Checking of Attendance
 Setting of Standards
 Review
 The teacher will ask the class about their topic last meeting.
 The teacher will introduce to the class the objectives of the new lesson.
 Motivation/Introducing Activity
 The class will play a game called, “Form Me & I’ll Show You!”
 The class will be divided into two groups. The first group will be named
as “Go Kapa! Y sirado! And the second group will be named as “Go
Kapa! Panirado!”.
 Each group will be given a puzzle.
 All they have to do is form the puzzle and place it on the board.
 Then right after that, the group will read altogether what’s on the puzzle.
 The first group who can finish first will be declared as the winner and
will gain a point.

B. Activity

 The teacher will introduce and discuss the new topic to the class.
 With the same groupings, each group must have two representative.
 All they have to do is answer the given questions on the board.
 The group who can answer correctly the given questions will gain a
point.
 After the activity, the class will be given fact sheets.

C. Analysis

 With the same groupings, each group will answer the Venn diagram.
 Each group will be provided with marker and Venn diagram.
 All they have to do is list down the different characteristics of their
ideal/dream and existing community in the diagram.
 Each group must have one representative to present their work.
D. Abstraction

 Is your community, an ideal or not? Why?


 What characteristics would you like to have in your community?
 As a concern citizen of this barangay, how can you make your
community an ideal one?
 What is the importance of having a healthy community?
 What are the benefits of having a healthy community?

E. Application

 With the same groupings, each group will be provided with art
materials.
 All they have to do is draw an ideal community.
 Then right after, each group must have one representative to present
their work.

IV. Assessment:

Directions: In an A4 sized bond paper, make an essay about a healthy community with at
least a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 200 words.

V. Assignment:

Directions: With the same groupings, each group will make a role play of a scenario that
usually happens during an election period. Each group must have 8 members to run the
election. The scene is like a big campaign event before an election. Each team will focus
their campaign about the preservation, promotion and protection of community and
environmental health. Each group will be given 10 minutes to perform the given task.
