INTRODUCTION
Many people argue that children play an important role in the future of our nation. Their mind
and skills form the future of our world. We, as experts in dealing with pediatric patients, must
have been agreed with this assumption. However, there are still many things to be done in health
promotion for young patients with neurosurgical illness. We need to share our knowledge in
order to gain a better understanding of the rapid evolution in our field.
Since the establishment of International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN) in 1972, a
yearly international scientific meeting has been held in different parts of the world. The aim of
the event is to share knowledge in relation to children’s health. The ISPN also provides support
to the faculty coming from emerging countries to conduct and to attend the course.
II. COMMITTEE
This event was planned and conducted by committee from Department of Neurosurgery, Faculty
of Medicine, Padjadjaran University/ Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung. The team were supervised
by ISPN Educational Chair, Sandip Chatterjee, MD; Head of Neurosurgery Department of Faculty
of Medicine, Padjadjaran University Bandung, Akhmad Imron, MD; and Head of Neuropediatric
Committee Indonesian Neurosurgical Society, Arifin Parenrengi, MD. The course directed by
Mirna Sobana, MD. The rest of committees consisted of Neurosurgery Residents of Department
of Neurosurgery, Faculty of Medicine, Padjadjaran University/ Hasan Sadikin Hospital Bandung.

Majority of participants was satisfied with on-time schedule, interactive lecture, appropriate
course level, organized content, well prepared and interactive faculty, accesible venue,
entertaining cultural programme, easy registration, and helpfull staff & committee.
Among the things to be improved are time allocation for each session, conference room facilities,
and food provided during the course and gala dinner. Low number of participants doing the
assessment was also a big problem, despite high numbers participants had been registered. Use
of paperless assessment cause difficulty for some participants.
