Crispin Creative Project

Your Task:
You will be writing a creative piece while demonstrating your ability to use the
writing conventions we have been learning throughout the unit. You may
choose any format from the provided list of suggestions; if you have an idea that
is not on the list, see Ms. Campbell to discuss further.

Your project must include:

o the use of properly punctuated and formatted dialogue,
o at least two transition words,
o at least one who/which clause,
o at least one dual quality adjective,
o and proper spelling and punctuation.

Please keep in mind:

You are expected to proofread your work to check for correct spelling,
capitalization, and grammar throughout your project. Do not use contractions
(can’t) or slang (u, gonna, wanna, etc.). Most importantly: have fun with this, get
creative, and do your best work; it’s time to show off what you know! 

Suggestions:
 A series of diary entries written by a character from the novel revealing
their thoughts on an event from the novel.
 A newspaper article written about an event from the novel (including a
picture).
 Create a childhood for a character. Write the story of an adult character’s
childhood (not Crispin) that shows why he or she is the way they are in the
novel.
 Create a short children’s book depicting an event from the novel from the
perspective of a character other than Crispin.
 Write the next chapter of the book. Continue the story! Write one chapter
in which Crispin chooses to accept his given name.

***No matter which format you choose, please keep the requirements of the
assignment in mind (see the list on the first page). ***
