analysis From The short story about ‘Rapunzel’ :

A. Character (Based on the story , we found there are 6 main character :

- A Man (Rapunzel’s Parent)
- A Woman (Rapunzel’s Mother)
- Sorceress/ Frau Gothel
- Rapunzel
- A Prince
- The Twins (children of Rapunzel’s and Prince)

B. Characterization
- A Man : A Confidant character that helps his wife to get the Rapunzel plant
- A Woman : A Flat character that has no much action on the story
- Frau Gothel : An Antagonist character. She is an sorceress
- Rapunzel: A Protagonist character that lives in the tall tower
- A Prince: A Dynamic character that become Rapunzel’s husband
- The Twins : A flat character

2. Setting

 Setting of Place
o Rapunzel’s parent home (In the rear window) (When a woman look at the garden of
sorceress)
o The sorceress Garden (When the man climbed over the to get rapunzel plants)
o The tower (In the forest) (The place when the sorceress was locked rapunzel)
o The wilderness (When the sorceress took rapunzel)

 Setting of Time
o It was getting dark (when the husband was climbed over the high wall into the
sorceress garden)
o Beginning to the dark (The prince went to the tower and call out rapunzel)
o By day (When the old women (sorceress) was come (to the tower)
  Setting of Situation
o Worry (when rapunzel’s mother was sick)
o Angry (when the sorceress’s was cut rapunzel’s hair)
o Sad (when the prince and rapunzel was separated and miserable)
o Touched (when the prince was found rapunzel on the wilderness)
o Happy (when in the last they lived happily and satidfied)
3. Plot
- The story has a progressive plot, which is the story start from a couple of husband and wife who
have an agreement with the sorceress (because a man took rapunzel plants from the sorceress
garden) for his wife who was sick) .

4. Conflict
- The conflict is happen when Rapunzel tell Frau Gothel about the prince, it makes her become
angry and cut off Rapunzel’s hair and took her into a wilderness.

5. Resolution
- The Resolution comes when the prince and Rapunzel meet in the forest, Rapunzel is crying when
see the prince and her tears fall into the prince’s blind eyes, suddenly the prince get his eyesight
back, and he take Rapunzel to his kingdom and for a long time they lived happily and satisfied.

6. Point of view
- The story was written in the third person point of view (limited)
