Collaborative Unit : 2nd Grade - Internet Safety

Learner Analysis:

Mrs. D has a total of 17 students in her 2nd grade class. Our school is a Title I school and all students receive free lunch. There are 7 ELL learners
in the class that speak Swahili, Burmese, and Nepali. Approximately 50% of Mrs. D's class is reading at or above grade level. Mrs. D's class has 1:1
Chromebooks and they are familiar with the blended learning setting.

2. Instruction:

Day 1: (Intro) Teacher and student will create a KWL regarding internet safety. TW express the importance of internet safety. TW present brain
pop video about internet safety. SW discuss why it is important to stay safe on the internet and what are some tips we can use to stay safe. SW
take brain pop quiz independently.

Day 2: TW introduce Live Binders to students by posting the link in VERGE. SW select 2 out 5 resources to explore. SW then take the information
they have learned and use Canva to create an infographic pertaining to the information. SW volunteer to present infographic to class.

Day 3: Ticket in the door: Illuminate Quiz


TW review what an informational writing is and TW have students type an informational paragraph explaining to a student what internet safety
is and why it is important.
