Given the advance nature of this information, there may be changes to opening times,
temporary closures at individual museums, or restricted availability. Residenzschloss closed
on 28th and 29th May 2015, Old Masters Picture Gallery closed from 14th September to
29th October 2015. Some museums operate special opening hours over the Christmas
period and on public holidays.
During the ‘Museums-Sommernacht Dresden’ on 11th July 2015 (from 6pm) the Dresden
Welcome Cards cannot be used for free or discounted admission to the museums. From
6pm to 1am the ‘Museums-Sommernacht Dresden’ admission ticket is valid. Our staff will
be happy to offer advice and information.
Please note that your Dresden Welcome Card is only valid once you have dated and signed
it prior to first use (e. g. for travel or for admission to one of the local attractions). Once
bought, you cannot return or get a refund.
Dresden Welcome Cards are sold in accordance with the travel cost, on behalf of the transport

ARMOURY IN THE RIESENSAAL


The Dresden Armoury has one of the most valuable collections of ceremo- map
nial weapons and uniforms in the world. Since 2013, these magnificent

weapons and suits of armour for man and horse are on display in the
newly restored Riesensaal of the Royal Palace.

In the 19th century a magnificent centre of the arts was founded between

SCULPTURE COLLECTION
The sculpture collection contains works from over five centuries – from map
the antiquity of the Mediterranean, through all periods of European plas-

tics to the present day. These items can be viewed in the exhibitions held
by the Albertinum. The new exhibition focuses on art of the 19th century
