St. John’s University to Construct $150 Million Office

Building

The University Plans on Revitalizing their Queens Neighborhood With New

Office

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2018 - The university announced that they are slated to start the
construction of a brand new office building on their Queens campus location. The office building
will serve as the headquarters of Greenscape Inc., a company that manufactures energy efficient
products. Both company executives and city personnel alike anticipate that the new addition will
be a much needed improvement to the Jamaica neighborhood.

Construction costs are projected to reach approximately $125 million. It will be financed by the
Queens Redevelopment Authority, who also guarantees that in addition to the building
construction, they will cover the expenses for local improvements surrounding the new office
building.

The former headquarters of Greenscape Inc. was previously stationed in Manhattan, but the CEO
stressed the need to have the company centered in a new location in need of the availability of
green products.

“It’s time for the Jamaica neighborhood to stop being left out of the conversation of going green.
There is no better place for our main office to be than the St. John’s University Queens campus,
that is placed right here in the heart of Jamaica, Queens.”

Since 1996, Greenscape has manufactured both household and industrial sustainable goods. They
produce light bulbs, power strips, shower heads, air conditioners, and much more. Consumers
can buy their products at big box retailers and local brick-and-mortar hardware shops.
