REGISTRATION –

2015 – (January – June Semester)


FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
 Registration for the next semester, on both Regular and Prorata basis will
have to be applied on line. <www.sliit.lk/online>
 The online application will have to be completely filled in order for it to
be accepted by the System.
 Students should pay the full semester fee and input the related
information to the online application for the application is to be accepted
by the system.
 Students who register on a regular basis could register for outstanding
modules on a prorate basis by paying only the examination fees for the
outstanding modules.
 Students who would be registering only on a prorate basis should pay the
prorated fees for the modules being offered.
 Applications which are incomplete will not be processed by the system.
 Students who are confronted with problems in the registration process
should immediately meet the Manager Academic Affairs or the Director,
Academic Affairs for direction.
 Applications will open on 05.01.2015 and will close on 18.01.2015.
 After the closure of applications on 18.01.2015, a late processing fee
of Rs 2,000/= will be charged from late applicants up to 25.01.2015.
 Thereafter as from 26.01.2015 an additional late processing fee of
10% of the fee payable will be charged up to 02.02.2015.
 Applications will not be accepted after 02.02.2015.
 Students are advised to avoid the necessity of paying late processing fees
unnecessarily by registering during the normal registration period.

1. Regular & Pro Rata Registrations – Apply Online
Registration of regular students for the January-June semester of 2015 will be through the on line mode

from 5th January 2015 onwards.


Such students will have to access the online application in the www.sliit.lk/online and apply for registration by
providing the information called for.

Scholarship recipients will not be able to register online. They should submit application to the Cashier along
with the due payment receipt.

The access route to the online application will be notified to the students in due course.

The students will have to insert the payment details as per the paying in slip issued by the Bank. The Bank Paying
in slip will have to be retained securely by the students themselves.

Once the payment is credited to the SLIIT account the student will be sent an acknowledgement by the Finance
Division via an e-mail.

2. Prorata students
Students who register for a semester on a prorate basis for a minimum of five subjects are not required to pay fees
when registering for additional outstanding modules on a prorate basis.

Both these categories of students are however required to pay examination fees for the additional subjects at the
rate of Rs 4,000/= per subject.

Students whose initial registration is in and prior to 2009 are required to seek advice on pro rata registration
from Manager Academic Affairs, before registration.

3. Registration Process
The steps to be taken will be as follows.

STEP ONE – Visit <www.sliit.lk/online>

STEP TWO – Input your registration number and the NIC Number and press “Submit” button

The terms and conditions will be displayed on screen.

STEP THREE – Read the terms and conditions and click “Agree” button

Registration options will be displayed as “Regular” and “Prorata Non Regular”


(Students wishing to register on a regular basis as well as on a prorate basis for outstanding modules should
choose “Regular” option. They will be facilitated to register for outstanding modules on a prorate basis by
paying examination fees only through the “Regular” registration site)

(Students wishing to register only on a prorate basis should choose the “Prorata Non Regular” option)

STEP FOUR – Click the appropriate registration option and the “Next” button.

The applicable registration application will be displayed.

STEP FIVE – Fill the application/s. Please provide all information sought. And press “Next” button. (If all
information sought is not provided and if the full semester fee is not paid the application will not be accepted by
the system)

[Any student who fails to submit his/her application online should immediately meet Manager Academic
Affairs].

When the application is duly filled the confirmation page will be displayed on screen with an indication that “your
application has been submitted successfully”.

Thereafter the students will be able to check the status of their applications by logging onto <www.sliit.lk/online>

4. Deadline for registrations – 18.01.2015


Payment of fees to the bank alone will not assure registration. The date of application will determine the “on
time” or “late” status of the application even if the payment had been made earlier.

4.1 Applications Should be submitted on or before 18th January 2015.

Please avoid the following late processing fees by registering on or before 18.01.2015.

4.2 Late applications received after 18th January 2015, shall be charged a late processing fee of Rs 2,000/= up
to 25th January 2015 and thereafter an additional 10% of the Semester Fee up to 2 nd February 2015.

4.3 Applications will not be entertained after 2nd February 2015

5.3 Payment Mechanism


5.3.1 SLIIT Students,

Payments shall be made separately for regular registration and prorate registration
as two payments.

Payment could be made to the account number 00 399 00000 33 of the Sampath Bank or
to Account Number 1630552 at the Bank of Ceylon at any branch in favour of ‘Sri Lanka
Institute of Information Technology”

5.3.2. 2014 Intake students in SHU and Curtin Degree programmes.


Payment could be made to the account number 73178010 at the Bank of Ceylon at any
branch in favour of ‘Kings International Institute (Pvt) Ltd”.

Students of this category who have outstanding subjects of year 1


should register for them on a prorate basis and make the payment to any of the
account number given under 5.3.1
6. Very Important
Any student who is confronted with a problem with the registration process should
immediately (well in advance of the closing date of registration) contact the
Director/Manager Academic Affairs for directions.
