Royal Court
Grgurevo

R emains of royal court are found on

the hill called Grgurevo, next to the
Franciscan monastery and church. Part of
the remains is found on the nearby slope
separated from Grgurevo by Urva brook.
In 1969. - 1970. foundations or walls of
several objects were unearthed: church,
eastern palace, and western part of the
court.
Church, or court chapel as entered in the
charter of king Tvrtko I. dated 1378., is
dedicated to St. Grgur.

Thus the whole hillside and the terrace,

once the church foyer is called Grgurevo.
It is evident that the church was built in
Gothic style.

Eastern palace is the oldest part of the

royal court..

Western part of the court encompasses

three palaces. Only foundations are visible
among remains.
