Significance of the study

The study's outcome would support the following:

Students. They are the one who will benefit the most because students in this

generation are influenced by technologies. This will help them to be aware of what

online gaming will affect their study habits.

Teachers. This will benefit the teachers by letting them know if involving phones

in their studies will have a positive or negative effect, so that they can be informed if they

would include phone in their assignments, quizzes, activities and projects.

Parents. Since the parents are one of the most influential people in a child’s

development, because of this they will know if they would restrict their child to have

games in cellphone or not.

Future Researchers. This will help the future researchers who will conduct the

same study or field by which this will serve them as their reference material to have a

further discussion about this topic.

Scope and Delimitations

This study focus on how online gaming relates study habits among Baliuag University

Grade 11 Senior High School student in the School Year 2019-2020. The study involves 300

tentative selected students from different strands of the Grade 11 Senior High School students of

Baliuag University in the 1st semester for school year 2018-2019. The researchers begin this

study last August 2019 and expected to finish by the end of January in 2020. A set of

questionnaires were given to the respondents that served as the guide of the researchers. The
answer from the respondents in the study were useful for the further section in this study that

could lead them to have an accurate and precise conclusion.

The study is delimited to a group of Grade 11 senior high school department from

different strand such as STEM, ABM, GAS and HUMSS, also the researchers choose to conduct

their study at the Baliuag University the researchers chose these respondents and locale because

it is more convenient for the researchers since the investigators are also part of the population in

Baliuag University.

The results were obtained from asking the students by how do online games affect their

study habit through survey. We use survey because the fact that we are going to use qualitative

research we need to tally the answers of the respondents and since we cannot sum up their

opinion

Hypothesis

The hypotheses to the mentioned problem are as follows:

Ho1: There is a significant relationship between online gaming and study habits.

Ho2: There is no significant difference in playing online games across strands.

Ho3: There is a significant difference among male and female of Grade 11

students in their study habits.
