This study examined the relationship between family support and maternal self-efficacy in first-time mothers. The results found a significant relationship between family support and maternal self-efficacy. Specifically, higher levels of family support were correlated with higher levels of maternal self-efficacy in caring for a newborn. MATERNALEFFICACY SELF OFIN PRIMARY WOMEN Nurul Pradita1, Desy Ayu Wardani2, Hamka3 Background: In primiparous mothers is her first experience in carrying out her role as mother namely caring for her baby which can lead to self-mistrust in carrying out her duties. The self-disbelief it faces will hamper the achievement of its role as a mother which will affect the level of maternal self-efficacy it has. Maternal self efficacy is the ability of self-confidence, success, the feeling of being able to care for the baby, the perception of the role of the mother in carrying out her duties. To achieve a high level of maternal self efficacy , factors that influence one of them are family support which are expected to increase the confidence of primiparous mothers in caring for their babies. Objective: To determine the relationship of family support with the level of maternal self efficacy in primiparous mothers. Method: This type of research uses adesign cross sectional, with a sample of 50 respondents with purposive sampling technique. Measurements were made with the maternal efficacy questionnaire and postpartum support system questionnaire. Results: Obtained results (p = 0.003) which means Ho is rejected. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and the level of maternal self efficacy in primiparous mothers, and the need for family support to improve maternal self efficacy.
