LEADERSHIP TRAINING: OUT – BASED ACTIVITIES

FLOW:
- For you, what makes a good leader?
- Is it something in his or her genetic makeup that makes it easier to lead people? Are
they product of years of training?

Activity 1: Handkerchief Relay


Mechanics:
1. In the activity, there is a police and a robber. The goal of the policeman is to capture
the robber and the goal of the robber is not to be captured by the policeman.
2. The handkerchief belongs to the policeman will be tied once and the one belongs to
the robber will be tied twice.
3. The activity will end when the policeman will be able to capture the robber.

Materials: 2 handkerchiefs

Activity 2: Balloon Relay


1. A balloon will be provided for each group.
2. The goal of the activity is to let the balloon stay in the air for 5 minutes without
letting it fall.
3. The balloon has to land on the hand or fingers of each member of the group once
only and need to pass it on to the next member.

Materials: 10 balloons

Activity 3: Square Game


1. Each member of the group has to measure himself or herself outside the line/s of the
square.
2. After measuring, he or she has to put something on top of his head that would
indicate his height measurement.
3. All members of the group have to do this before proceeding to the final activity.
4. After all members have indicated their measurements and have placed something
outside the square, all of them will situate themselves inside the square.
5. They will get the ones they have placed outside without getting out of the square. It
depends on the group on what strategies they will use as long as they will be able to
get all the things within 5 minutes.

Materials: chalk or straw

Activity 4: Titanic and Roses


1. The members of the group will stay in a place, quite close with each other.
2. Each member has a corresponding number and all of them will serve as roses.
3. When the facilitator will say, “The Titanic is drowning, save roses number 2, 5, and
9.” They will save those numbers mentioned and carry them for a couple of minutes.
4. The group that will not be able to carry the roses to the desired time will be out from
the activity.

Materials:

Activity 5: All Aboard


1. The members of the group will be inside of the tarpaulin.
2. They will need to flip the tarpaulin without their feet getting out of the tarpaulin.

Materials: 10 tarpaulins
