WHY EXAMS SHOULD BE ABOLISHED FROM SCHOOLS?

School failure has become a major issue for many developed countries. Not only
does it affect millions of young people but it has serious consequences on the skills,
knowledge and qualifications of the general workforce.Teenagers are opting to leave
school due to the fact that they are frustrated with exams; which begs the question:
should exams be abolished from schools?

It is common knowledge that the current education system is obsolete and

outdated. It is a system based on exams which test students capability to memorize
rather than intelligence.Besides being outdated it does not value skills related with
arts, music and creativity in general. Moreover, mention should be that students go
out for gaining high marks so that they often forget the main purpose of education
which is to learn, become a better person and prepare themselves for the
future. However, no one is doing nothing to face to this problematic. It is therefore
essential that governments find ways to tackle this problem; they should imply
polities to improve the education system which implies, among many other things,
abolishing exams.

On the other hand, it is often claimed that exams produce unbearable stress among
students; as a result students tend to obtain lower marks that the ones they should
get.According to some new research done by Cambridge University the fact that
students are afraid of failure does make them not to concentrate and thereby drive
them to failure.Being a student myself I strongly agree with this statement. However, I
believe that students must learn to cope with stress since they should probably face
many stress situations in the future when they enter to the workforce.

In light of the above, I firmly believe that exams should be abolished due to the fact
that they test memory rather than intelligence. Moreover, abolishing exams would be
paramount to solve the education system main problem, school failure.
