I. INTRODUCTION

Business plays a major role within our society. It is a creative and competitive

activity that continuously contributes to the shaping of our society. By satisfying the

needs and wants people cannot satisfy themselves, businesses improve the quality of life

for people and create a higher standard of living.

It is a way for individuals to provide goods and services to consumers, and at the

same time, produce a profit for themselves. Businesses are not only important because

they provide goods and services for consumers, but they also improve the economy and

increase jobs for people within society which is an additional fact producing a higher

standard of living.

Ways of doing business these days are different from how it was done twenty

years ago and will surely be different in the coming twenty years.

Change is the key word, and the business world is changing so rapidly that people need

to constantly adapt, perform and overcome to survive. Giving these facts and challenges,

every business need to find the most adapted solutions and implement rules and

procedures in order to maintain its competitive position, protect its market shares and

above all maintain the level of survival of the human beings involved in this business

(Owners, staff...).
UNIVERSITY OF RIZAL SYSTEM

It has always been a dream of mine to one day open and run a small business. I

feel that I know myself well, and that this career field would suit me best. Rather than

have one large company that brought in enough income annually, I prefer multiple

small businesses which in turn lead to large profit margins. I get bored easily, and this

variety of work will keep me motivated and happy through the rest of my working life.

However, to achieve my life dreams of running these businesses, there are certain steps

I must climb first to accomplish my goals. I realize that education in this field is not a

necessity but will go a long way on my journey to the top.

Business has become indispensable in our lives. Nearly everything an individual

does is directly or indirectly related to business. As clearly defined by many of the

authors, business is exchange of goods. (E.g. Service for money with a profit motive).

Hence most of our wants are satisfied only by business. Of course, there are activities

carried on which are non-business kind. For E.g. a Government official or a government

body itself, a doctor, a teacher, a police officer or a house wife. But these activities are

supplied with the essential goods and services by business only.

Economic accords bring nations closer. There may be political differences, but

economic transactions do not get influenced by this. It is the foreign trade which earns

us the valuable foreign exchange.

UNIVERSITY OF RIZAL SYSTEM
Binangonan, Rizal
GRADUATE SCHOOL
Corporate Fiscal Policy

We apply the technical know-how of the foreign goods to our products; hence we

increase the standard of the production of domestic goods. Computerization and

modernization of several industries is a result of our economic relationships with the

foreign countries. Therefore, we can conclude that business influences our lives in every

walk.

Thank you to University of Rizal System for they open a lot of opportunities to

hone the lives of young entrepreneurs. It is, and it will always be a great help for the

students to have or perform a company visit just to understand the normal operation of

the company.

Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a

professional degree. It is considered as a part of college curriculum and objectives of

industrial visit is to provide students an insight regarding internal working of companies.

We know, theoretical knowledge is not enough for making a good professional

career. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical

perspective on the world of work.

counters for their patrons. The said bar also offer entertainment or live

music are often referred to as music bars, live venues, or nightclubs.

Arj’s bar have a discount period, designated a "happy hour" or

capacity sometimes implement a cover charge or a minimum drink

purchase requirement during their peak hours. Arj’s Bar may

C. Services Offered

In Arj’s Restobar, good customer service means being friendly, available,

attentive and quick to take care of customers' needs.

Being Prompt and Attentive

Being prompt doesn't mean rushing or hovering, but it does mean taking

care of customers' needs in an appropriate time frame. Having to wait 10 or even

five minutes for drink refills, butter, sauce or the check can quickly make a good

dining experience turn sour. Customers can feel awkward when wondering if

they should remind their servers about the request. They may even eat food

without the proper condiments or a beverage – something no restaurant owner

wants, because it can lead to poor reviews.

Service with a Smile

For them, good service means a friendly, welcoming service. The owner of

Arj’s positively strive to encourage the exceptional service that occurs when

service workers take a genuine interest in their customers. For example, waiters
UNIVERSITY OF RIZAL SYSTEM
Binangonan, Rizal
GRADUATE SCHOOL and

hosts might ask customers

about their day, help them make food choices and give customers compliments.

Restaurant owners can encourage this kind of

good service by honoring employees who are exceptionally gifted in this

area and having them train others.

Being Available

Sometimes, good customer service simply means being available.

Customers who can see managers, hosts and waitstaff are more likely to give

employees the opportunity to provide good customer service by making requests.

Many diners are hesitant to actually walk into the bar or to the counter to ask

for something, and a customer should never have to shout into the kitchen. Just

by being visible, you make customers feel they are having a better experience

because they know if they need something, you're right there, available to help.

Being Exceptional

Customers can get good food and decent customer service almost anywhere.

What will set your restaurant apart is the degree to which you are willing to go

above and beyond to be exceptional. Restaurant employees can practice this kind

of customer service by being willing to make special creations for guests, offering

drinks to go, bringing mints

target market of Arj’s is

morning they have the coffee and bento meals, and at the same time they even

go to the graveyard shift people. They also cater to 24/7. So in short they are

always available at day and at night—they capture practically all. Franchising

is a very good option. What you only need is money and after that you are

assured. They are planning to franchise in five-month’ time, the capital that he

invested in the franchise was returned. If you only have the money, it’s a sure

way. They are also very careful with new franchises. But sometimes people like

to go to new ones, like Kinamat in Angono also, Jolibbee it’s gaining popularity

major problem? How do you handle it?

ANSWER: No. Not at all. Since our industry is food and service we don’t

schedule because the order is on the daily basis.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Developing a strong marketing plan is vital to the success of any business.

Service firms like Earl Metal, Arj’s Restobar and J-Works can face challenges in

their marketing strategies as they often don’t offer physical products that can be

display for customers. These companies therefore depend on delivering high

levels of professionalism and efficiency. A comprehensive marketing strategy can

help service providers highlight capabilities and attract clients.

Customer Recommendations

According to the journal: “Service Marketing and Critical Distribution

Issue”, (Oumlil & Rao, 2003) Qualified sales leads can usually be found in the

existing customer base. When a professional service firm deals with their

current crop of satisfied customers, its sales staff should find out if those

clients have business associates that would benefit from their services. These

referrals come with an instant connection to the prospect and remove much of

the anxiety often associated with making a cold call

networking opportunities give service firm chapters an additional avenue to

implement their marketing strategies (Shankar, Berry, &

Thomas, 2009). Networking groups allow companies to conduct face-to-face

interactions with potential clients and industry leaders. Gatherings that mix

business with pleasure, such as conventions, charitable functions and civic

events, give sales staffers additional chances to spread the word about the

company. They can also interact with important contacts in ways that leave

personal impressions.

Industry Specialization and standards

With so many service firms competing for a limited number of potential

clients, their respective marketing plans must include methods on how to

stand out from their rivals (Zeitham, Bitner, & Gremler, 2010). Since no firm

can meet every customer’s every need, each company must determine which

skill sets it possesses and emphasize those skills. For instance, a law firm

specializing in bankruptcy law will stress its abilities to clients seeking help in

reorganizing their debts.

Media

Social media has quickly become one of the most effective marketing

tools for service firms. Sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr give

companies new outlets to spread their messages to a worldwide audience.

Professional networking sites such as LinkedIn allow marketers and sales staff

to connect with prospective customers based on work experience and industry

status (Gordon, 2008).

In summary, depending on what kind of business you are in and

focusing on one or multiple of these tactics will benefit for your company.
