DIGESTIVE SYSTEM
Human body is made up of countless millions of cells, food is needed to built up new cells and
replace the worn out cells. However, the food that we take must be changed into substances that can be
carried in the blood to the places where they are needed. This process is called digestion.
The first digestive process takes place in the mouth. The food we eat is broken up into small
pieces by the action of teeth, mixed with saliva, a juice secreted by glands in the mouth. Saliva contains
digestive juices which moisten the food, so it can be swallowed easily.
From the mouth, food passes through the esophagus (the food passage) into the stomach. Here,
the food is mixed with the juice secreted by the cells in the stomach for several hours. Then the food
enters the small intensive. All the time the muscular walls of the intestine are squeezing, mixing and
moving the foods onwards.
In a few hours, the food changes into acids. These are soon absorbed by the villi (microscopic
branch projections from the intestine walls and passed into the bloodstream.

The greenhouse effect is a warming of the air around us. It gets its name from the greenhouses
that people use to grow plants. These greenhouses let in heat from sunlight and trap it inside. Earth’s
atmosphere–the layer of air that surrounds our planet–also traps heat.
Greenhouse effect is raised temperature at a planet’s surface as result of heat energy being
trapped by gases in the atmosphere. Certain gases cause the atmosphere to act like the glass in a
greenhouse. As a result, the temperature of a planet’s surface may be higher than it otherwise would
be–on Earth about 33º C (59ºF) higher. The main gases that produce the greenhouse effect on Earth are
water vapour and carbon dioxide. Scientists suspect that increased discharge of carbon dioxide from
human activity (notably motor transport and industry) is contributing to global warming.

Everything seemed so perfect. Until then cancer attracted her. Keke suffered from

fall out, her skin became dry and often nausea. Keke’s and her family’s patient paid off. She was
declared cured and could do her activities as usual.
Unfortunately, a year later the cancer returned. This was even more serve and lethal. Keke
understood that it was impossible for her to survive, but she didn’t give up and go down. Her passion to
continue to be the best was not even weakened. She was just like the star of aerius which was still
shining brightly despite the clouds covered the sky.

Coffee cherries must be processed soon after harvesting to prevent the pulp from he fermenting around
the bean. There are two types of processing known as dry and wet processing.
Dry processing is sometimes called “unwashed” or “natural” processing. Cherries are spread
outside for 15 to 20 days. The cherries are exposed to the sun and stirred regularly to help them dry
evenly. The dried cherries are then hulled by hand or by machine, removing the dried out pulp and
parchment. This is the way coffee has been processed for centuries.
The other type of processing is know as wet or “washed” processing. A few hours after the
cherries are harvested, the pulp is removed from the cherries. The beans are then washes and rising.
Small amount of fermentation don’t hurt the bean, but soften the remaining pulp and skin, making them
able to be easily rinsed off. This is a better type of processing because it causes less damage to the bean
than dry processing.
Once the coffee beans have been processed, they are sorted by size and looks, than bagged
ready for shipment. Coffee beans that don’t make the “grade” for export are normally used on local
basis.
The most important step in getting coffee into your cup is the roasting. Roasting coffee is both
an art and a sciences, requiring year of experience and the right type of the roasting equipment.
Green coffee bean are roasted at temperatures ranging from 370 to 450 degrees for up to 20
minutes. During this time they lose 18 to 23 % of their weight and increases in size by 35 to 60%. They
change color from a light straw green color to medium brown or dark brown, depending upon the
degree of roast. The bean splits open and brings out the rich aroma of the coffee.
Roasting is merely the “cooking” of the bean. How much the bean roasted is that is called the
degree of roast. The less it is cooked, the “lighter” or “milder” the roast. There are different terms used
for the degree of roast. Some use the words Mild-Mild-Medium-Medium-Medium-Dark-Dark.
Today, another common naming of roasting is after countries- American roast, French roast,
French roast, Italian roast, Turkish roast. These all go from light to dark, from mild in taste to down-
right burnt tasting.
