1. What's the title of the book and why do you think it was named in this manner?

The title of the book is “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” because it was about two dads, the rich and the
poor that the author, Robert Kiyosaki consistently looks upon when he needed advice. These two
dads very much influenced major decisions that the author made in his lifetime. Throughout the
book, the comparison between the rich dad and the poor dad was consistent. They were
compared based on life changing decisions, financial practices, principles, and attitude towards
acquiring and managing the business of money.

2. In what way did the author enlightened you about his topic?

The author enlightened me that we must take full advantage of other people’s skills and
talents to enhance the goals you set in your undertaking. He stresses that an individual should
not be content as an employee but by being your own boss or we should aim higher. He
enlightened me to seek other means to create income.

3. Cite one or two quote(s) in the book that struck the most and explain its personal impact

on you?

The quote that struck the most for me is, “Life pushes all of us around”. For me, this quote
implies about taking risks. Since I am that kind of person who’s shy and don’t have enough
confidence taking risks because I’m afraid of criticism. As I’ve read this book, particularly this
quote, it struck my mind that whatever life gives you, good or bad, you must accept it. Take
risks, grab every opportunities life might bring. If ever we fail, we should try again and move
forward, it’s not the end of everything, just use that as a motivation to strive harder and achieve
your dreams and goals in life.
4. What are the things you would want to change after analyzing his explanation?

The thing I would like to change after reading this book is the way I spent my money
especially for me as a student. After reading this book, I’ve come to realize that we should be
smart in spending the money that we have. The author puts emphasis on financial
independence, the essence of enjoying our money. We should be wise on spending on
something that is MORE important than buying unnecessary things that our eyes want.

5. How can you apply the principles laid out after reading it?

After I graduate, I will look for a job. I’ll balance my income for myself and for my family
first. Then maybe after a year or so of working, I’ll use the money I saved to invest in some
business that will make my income grow.

6. Write a short reflection/ summary of overall experiences with regard to the main
message delivered by the book?

I think that the author is a good story teller. The book is inspiring in its sense. The points pointed
are valid and simple to understand. As I’ve read this book, it made me see that spending my
money smart isn’t a bad habit to do. It will actually benefit me for the better though I was taken
aback at the part where investment and liabilities was being discussed. I have always thought that
houses were investment and we should invest on it right away but there were more steps we
should do first before buying a house.

As a student, I know very well that in order for me to really overcome this poverty is to study
well but was that really enough? Apparently it wasn't. I need to make sure that I’m not only
financially secure that my richest will last until I have past. Overall I’ve learned many lessons
regarding on how to spend my money wise, and that being rich isn’t about having a lot of money.
