E with Uncontrolled Hypertension with Approach of Family


Medicine at Puskesmas Gembong,Balaraja District,Tangerang City,
Banten Province

ABSTRACT

Background: In 2012 the prevalence of hypertension worldwide reaches 26.4% and in


Indonesia reaches 25.8% at the age of ≥18 years. In 2017 there are 759 cases in
Puskesmas Gembong and the second most of ten diseases. One of the patients at
Puskesmas Gembong suffers from hypertension for 3 years ago and rare controlled.
This is very worrying so family visits need to be done to see the factors that cause
uncontrolled hypertension so as to prevent complications.
Case: Man is 53 years old came to Puskesmas Gembong with headaches for 1 year and
disappeared. Patients taking Panadol and the last six months of complaints are
increasing. Patients have hypertension since 3 years ago and rare controlled and don’t
know that should take life-long medication.
Discussion: Using the Mandala of Health and family medical approach, it was found
that uncontrolled hypertension due to unhealthy lifestyle and lack of knowledge of
patients and families about his disease. Then a series of interventions and consultations
were made to the nutrition section, so within 3 weeks of monitoring, the patient's blood
pressure fell to 140/90 mmHg.
