Hollywood Dreams
Do you dream of being rich and famous? We talked to
three young people at drama and music schools in Los
Angeles.
Matt Richards, 14
I’m studying drama and cinema, and this is my second
year at this school. I come to drama school three times a
week after school. Last year we learnt a lot about acting.
This year we’re also learning how to write movie scripts
and how to use a camera. That’s great for me because I
don’t want to be an actor. I want to be a movie director and
make great action movies like Terminator or King Kong.

I’m studying music and drama. I’m lucky because my dad
is a musician. He taught me to play the guitar and the
piano. I come to the drama school two evenings a week
after school. We learn how to sing and play musical
instruments, but we’re also learning how to write music.
That’s great, because when I leave school, I want to write
music for movies.

My drama school is different. I come here all day, every
day! We have normal school lessons in the morning, and in
the afternoon we have drama lessons. In my free time I
watch a lot of comedies and thrillers and then I try to copy
the actors. I’m really excited because last week I was in a

small part, I only said two words. But it was amazing!
