Anak is a movie of the great actress Vilma Santos together with Ms. Claudine Barreto.

It focuses in the
relationship of a parent and a child who comes across a trial which concern misunderstanding due to
communication gap between the daughter (Claudine as Carla) and the mother (Vilma as Josie).

Vilma Santos (Josie) is an Overseas Filipino Worker in Hong Kong. She is a loving mother who is willing to
do everything to support her family. She played a very tough job as a mother. It was a heavy drama as
there were a lot of heavy scene in which she cried every moment. She is very compatible to the role. She
clearly showing how life goes of being an Overseas, showing the hardships, sacrifices, pain, struggles she
faces inorder to survive and sustain the needs of her family. The way she act on every lines and scenes
breaks my heart realizing that it is not easy to be the shoe of a mother working abroad.

Claudine Barreto (Carla) the oldest daughter of Josie. She played as a stubborn and spoiled daughter.
She grows with so much hatred to her mother. She abandoned her family especially Josie. For me,
Claudine's acting is so very impressive and outstanding. The role is convincing because of her bratty
attitude that makes me feel outrage and wanted to slap on her face.

Unconditional love, sacrifice, never giving up, forgiveness, appreciation are the main message of the
movie. It is powerful and heartwarming that surely brings out emotions. It is a one of a kind movie that
really touches our soul. It conveys and reflects our daily life. Reminding us to cherish every moment
together with our family and friends who is willing to do sacrifices for our own good and survival. To all
sons and daughters having one of the member of the family working abroad must watch the movie
inorder to understand the hardwork there in abroad and to enlighten their minds, to study well to make
exchange of the sacrifices they did. Let's treasure the love they give.
