Abstract

Using the principle of magnetism, remaining high power magnetic plates are adapted at the next pavement
surface instead of commons speed reducers, these plates are placed in different sectors of high accident on
road Bogota to Girardot, with these decreasing the speed of vehicles in these sectors and also the risk.
Magnetic speed reducers comply whit the principles of stable magnetic fields, Coulomb’s law, among others,
applied on moving particles, besides this, by gradual function, they produce little wear and impact absorbers
vehicles. Save optimum pavement condition and minimizes deterioration per charge (Weight w), braking
(Friction µ) and impact, this contributes with benefits both to cars and road, ensuring a smooth and safe
transit.

1. Introduction

In Colombia, the accident’s rate in roads has done a common problem to itself. According to the Dirección de
Tránsito y Transporte de la Policía Nacional, 135 kilometres that separate to Bogotá from Girardot (Route
Silvania) understand for statistics an accident every 21 hours and a record of 63 deads and 367 injured for
September, 2014, doing of the route Bogota to Girardot that of major accident. Between the mainsprings of
deaths, the prudent distance with regard to other cars, the drunkenness and the speeding they meant the major
contribution to this problematics.

1
Worldwide, there have been many alternatives to provide solutions to the accident on the road, among which
are highlighted and relate the implementation of magnetic speed reducers implanted in cars. In altars of the
suitable road traffic, speed reducers studies the implementation of magnetic plates in the route Bogota to
Girardot and there are discussed the parameters and technologies of production of the magnetic stable fields
[1] inside the process of paving. Likewise, determinant factors are evaluated of functionality as power, current
and time of direct reaction by the cars.
