TITLE:

The Acceptability of Aloe Vera “Aloe barbadensis” and Orange “Citrus X sinesis” as Main
Ingredient of Hand Sanitizer

OBJECTIVE:

To produce a new substance and to discover if this works, to help clean the people’s hands and to
be germ free.

REASON WHY YOU WANT TO DO IT:

To avoid germs to our hands. Once we touched a visible dirty thing, that means our hands
has already germs that may harm us because we directly sometimes touch our eyes, nose, ears
mouth and others, which may cause a various illness to us. By applying a hand sanitizer we can
easily be free from those dirty germs. Aloe Vera mixed with Orange Zest Hand Sanitizer can help
us be free from germs and other bacteria’s that is in our hands. Aloe Vera mixed with Orange Zest
Hand Sanitizer will make us feel that we are now free from germs.

Aloe Vera contains natural moisturizers that help retain moisture on dry and rough skin.
After you are finished sanitizing, the alcohol will evaporate off of your hand killing the germs, and
the Aloe Vera in our hand sanitizer will remain and form a protective layer on your skin leaving it
soft for you.

Citrus peels are known for the abundant amounts of polyphenols present, which have been
proven to possess antimicrobial activity

Commercially prepared hand sanitizers contain ingredients that help prevent skin dryness.
Using these products can result in less skin dryness and irritation than hand-washing. Studies show
that adding hand sanitizers to classrooms can reduce student absenteeism due to illness by 20 per
cent.

The hand sanitizer will be used by the Community in helping the people who’s in need of
keeping the people’s hands clean. Also, the hand sanitizer will be satisfying for them because the
hand sanitizer is antibacterial and has a scent that will make them feel comfortable.

BENEFITS TO THE SCHOOL:

The hand sanitizer will help the students, teachers and staffs to maintain their proper
hygiene and for healthy purposes.

BENEFITS TO THE FUTURE RESEARCHERS:


The future researchers will inspire students to produce a new product and to discover more
about the product. Also, they will make the students more curious and interested in the product.

MATERIALS:

 Aloe Vera Gel


 Ethyl Alcohol
 Pure Glycerin
 Orange
 Measuring Spoons / Cups
 Blender
 Bowl
 Spoon
 Grater
 Chopping Board
 Knife
 Bottled Container
PROCEDURE:

1. Prepare all the materials and ingredients needed.


2. Scrape the gel inside the Aloe Vera leaves.
3. Grate the orange to get the zest of the orange.
4. After getting the zest, get a blender and add all the ingredients;
 Put ½ Aloe Vera gel first
 Add 1 cup of Ethyl Alcohol
 Add 2 teaspoons of Pure Glycerin
 Then, add the orange zest
 Now, it is time to blend the mixture
5. If you are done blending, put the finish product on a bottled container.
