Background of the study
Germs are everywhere! They can get into hands and items we touching daily activities
and make us sick. Cleaning hands at key times with soap and water or hand sanitizer
that contains at least 60% alcohol is one of the most impotant steps you can take to
avoid getting sick and spreading germs to those around you.
This helps prevent infection because people frequently touch their eyes, nose, and
mouth without even realizing it. Germs can get into the body through the eyes, nose
and mouth and make us sick.
A hand sanitizer is an agent applied to the hands for the purpose of removing common
pathogens (disease-causing organisms). Hand sanitizers typically come in foam, gel, or
liquid form. Use is recommended when soap and water are not available for hand
washing.
Aloe vera gel adds moisture and nutrishment to hand sanitizer, helping to balance the
harsh drying effects of alcohol. It also adds some thickness for easier and more effective
application, adding to the important contact time of alcohol on your skin as well as
preventing it from sticking to your skin.

Review of related literature

This chapter presents the related literature and studies on the effects of aloe vera gel,
orange, and ethyl alcohol-based sanitizer and moisturizer onselected respondents
hands in-depth search that is done by the researchers and presented in the following
paragraph:
Aloe barbadensis, often called Aloe vera or sabila in Tagalog, is a tiny plant that grows
to be about a foot tall. This plant may thrive and provide tremendous benefits with
proper care. Burn healing, wound healing, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and wound
healing are among its bioactivities.
Aloe vera plant is not just for house decoration. Today, aloe vera is included as the main
ingredient in many processed skin products such as lotions, gel, creams, and sunblock
that everyone can purchase in drugstores, boutiques and conducting this study will
help people to be always sanitize and especially to avoid bacteria. There is no
significant effect of using aloe vera gel, ethyl alcohol and orange peel as sanitizer.
There is an significant result which may prove that aloe vera gel, ethyl alcohol and
orange peel is an supermarkets. Aloe vera is an effective moisturizer.skin clear and
prevent it from dehydration or drying because the plant’s leavesstore
water.
The leaves of aloe vera plant are water-densed that contains acombined
special plant compounds called complex carbohydrates, making it
aneffective moisturizer. Aloe vera is limited only for external application to
the skinand is very harmful to take aloe vera gel orally (Villafuerte, 2019).
Orange peel
The peel contains antibacterial and antimicrobial characteristics, making it
ideal for acne and oily skin treatments. It also acts as a skin lightening
agent and can help with facial marks and pigmentation.
According to International Conference on Innovation and Technology
(2020), the findings also confirmed that the addition of essential oil from
orange peels can enhance the anti-microbial activity of hand sanitizer.
According to FreshPlaza (2021), the natural oils contained in oranges help
to moisturize it, making it soft and healthy. Antioxidants fight free radicals,
helping to delay the appearance of wrinkles and premature ageing. Its high
serum acid content helps prevent skin flaking and dries out acne. Ethanol,
sometimes known as ethyl alcohol, is a kind of alcohol.
Ethanol, often known as ethyl alcohol, is a colorless, transparent alcohol
that is found in many hand sanitizers. It has the ability to kill a wide range
of bacteria and viruses.
Cleaning products and solvents may contain ethanol as a component. It can
also be used as an antiseptic, and is commonly referred to as rubbing
alcohol.
Ethanol has the ability to kill a wide range of bacteria and viruses at
appropriate concentrations. As a result, it’s a common ingredient in hand
sanitizers.
Hand Sanitizer
Hand sanitizers are a type of disinfectant and antiseptic that is used to
destroy microorganisms (pathogens) such as harmful viruses, fungi, and
bacteria.
Most hand sanitizers are alcohol-based and come in gel, foam, or liquid
form. Alcohol-based hand sanitizers are able to eliminate between 99.9%
and 99.999% of microorganisms after application.
Hand sanitizer, also called hand antiseptic, handrub, or hand rub, agent
applied to the hands for the purpose of removing common pathogens
(disease-causing organisms). Hand sanitizers typically come in foam, gel,
or liquid form. Their use is recommended when soap and water are not
available for hand washing or when repeated hand washing compromises
the natural skin barrier (e.g., causing scaling or fissures to develop in the
skin). Although the effectiveness of hand sanitizer is variable, it is
employed as a simple means of infection control in a wide variety of
settings, from day-care centres and schools.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
Aloe Vera gel is also know as moisturing and heal wounds, ethyl alcohol as
an astringent to help clean skin and orange peel to eliminate odors.
Nowadays situations, this can be use to clean or sanitize themselves
especially to prevent the viruses or bacteria. Conducting this study will
help people to be always sanitize and especially to avoid bacteria.
Statement of the problem
1.Are homemade hand sanitizer is more effective than the commercial
hand sanitizer?
2. Is homemade sanitizer effective to free our hand from germs?
3.How the home made sanitizer can free our hand from germs?
HYPOTHESIS OF THE STUDY
There is no significant effect of using aloe vera gel, ethyl alcohol and
orange peel as sanitizer.
There is an significant result which may prove that aloe vera gel, ethyl
alcohol and orange peel is an effective sanitizer.
