I. Narrative Text

The Smartest Parrot

Once upon time, a man had a wonderful parrot. There was no other parrot
like it. The parrot could say every word, except one word. The parrot would not say
the name of the place where it was born. The name of the place was Catano.

The man felt excited having the smartest parrot but he could not
understand why the parrot would not say Catano. The man tried to teach the bird
to say Catano however the bird kept not saying the word.

At the first, the man was very nice to the bird but then he got very angry.
“You stupid bird!” pointed the man to the parrot. “Why can’t you say the word?
Say Catano! Or I will kill you” the man said angrily. Although he tried hard to teach,
the parrot would not say it. Then the man got so angry and shouted to the bird
over and over; “Say Catano or I’ll kill you”. The bird kept not to say the word of
Catano.

One day, after he had been trying so many times to make the bird say
Catano, the man really got very angry. He could not bear it. He picked the parrot
and threw it into the chicken house. There were four old chickens for next dinner
“You are as stupid as the chickens. Just stay with them” Said the man angrily. Then
he continued to humble; “You know, I will cut the chicken for my meal. Next it will
be your turn, I will eat you too, stupid parrot”. After that he left the chicken house.

The next day, the man came back to the chicken house. He opened the door
and was very surprised. He could not believe what he saw at the chicken house.
There were three death chickens on the floor. At the moment, the parrot was
standing proudly and screaming at the last old chicken; “Say Catano or I’ll kill you”.

Burung Beo Yang Cerdas

Pada suatu ketika, seorang pria memliki seekor burung beo yang
mengagumkan. Tidak ada burung beo lain yang seperti itu. Burung beo itu dapat
mengatakan setiap kata, kecuali satu kata. Burung beo itu tidak dapat mengatakan
nama tempat dimana ia dilahirkan. Nama tempat itu adalah Catano.

Pria itu merasa gembira memiliki burung beo yang cerdas, tetapi dia tidak
mengerti mengapa burung beo itu tidak dapat mengatakan Catano.lelaki itu
mencoba mengajari burung itu untuk mengatakan Catano tetapi burung itu tetap
tidak mengatakan kata itu.

Pada awalnya, pria itu sangat baik pada burung itu, tetapi kemudian dia
menjadi sangat marah “Kau burung bodoh”.”Mengapa kau tidak dapat mengataan
kata itu? Katakanlah Catano! Atau aku akan membunuhmu” kata pria itu dengan
marah. Meskipun dia berusaha keras untuk mengajar, burung beo itu tidak mau
mengatakannya. Kemudan lelaki itu begitu marah dan berteriak pada burung itu
berulang-ulang,”Katakanlah Catano atau aku akan membunuhmu”. Burung itu
tetap tidak mau mengatakan Catano.

Suatu hari, setelah dia mencoba berkali-kali membuat burung itu

mengatakan Catano, lelaki itu bena-benar sangat marah. Dia tidak dapat
menahannya. Dia mengambil burung beo dan melemparkannya ke kandang ayam.
Terdapat empat ayam tua untuk makan malam berikutnya “Kau sebosoh
ayam.pantas tinggal bersamanya” kata pria itu dengan marah. Kemudian ia terus
menghinananya, “ kau tau, aku akan memotong ayam itu untuk makananku.
Selanjutnya giliranmu, aku akn memakanmu juga, beo bodoh”. Setelah itu ia
meninggalkan kandang ayam itu.
 Keesokan harinya, pria itu datang kembali ke kadang ayam. Dia membuka
pintu dan sangat terkejud. Dia tidak percaya dengan apa yang dilihat di kandang
ayam. Ada tuga ayam mati di lantai. Saat itu, burung beo itu berdiri dengan bangga
dan berteriak pada ayam tua terakhir, ”Ktakan Catano atau aku akan
membunuhmu”.

II. Discussion Text

Homeschooling
Homeschooling becomes an attractive choice to parents this time. Schools
have become increasingly unstable over the past couple of decades. Children play
truant, violence is prevalent, children are bullied and the quality of education has
decreased. That's why parents choose home schooling.
 However, there are pros and cons of home schooling. Children who are
home schooled can avoid many problems. For examples, children can study
without fearing other students or teachers. It means that they are under their
parents' supervision.Homeschooling allows children to study at their own ability
and speed. If a child is weak at math, a home schooling teacher can more focus on
that lesson or skill. Another advantages is that home schooling keeps children on
learning. There are many students in school do not appreciate their teacher. By
home schooling, students can value learning.

However, homeschooling also have disadvantages. First, home schooled

children are usually less socialized. Traditional schools are places where students
learn to interact with others and build social skills. On the other hand, home
schooled children just interact with their teacher. They do not know working
together or solving problem in a group. Second, sometimes homeschooling has
different educational plan. Therefore parents must choose the qualified person as
the teacher, so that the children get the proper curriculum.

There are many advantages and disadvantages of homeschooling. Therefore

parents must make sure the children ability and teachers' quality before they
decide to make their children home schooled.

Sekolah Di Rumah
Sekolah di rumah menjadi sebuan pilihan menarik bagi orang tua saat ini.
Sekolah telah menjadi semakin tidak stabil selama beberapa dekade . Anak-anak

tanpa takut siswa atau guru lainnya . Ini berarti bahwa mereka berada di bawah
pengawasan orang tua mereka . Sekolah Di Rumah memungkinkan anak-anak
untuk belajar di kemampuan dan kecepatan mereka sendiri . Jika seorang anak
lemah di matematika , seorang guru home schooling dapat lebih fokus pada hal itu
pelajaran atau keterampilan . Keuntungan lain adalah bahwa sekolah di rumah
membuat anak-anak belajar . Ada banyak siswa di sekolah tidak menghargai guru
mereka . Dengan belajar di rumah , siswa dapat belajar menghargai .

Namun, homeschooling juga memiliki kelemahan . Pertama , sekolah di

rumah anak-anak biasanya kurang disosialisasikan . Sekolah tradisional adalah
tempat di mana siswa belajar untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain dan
membangun keterampilan sosial . Di sisi lain ,home schooling anak hanya
berinteraksi dengan guru mereka . Mereka tidak tahu bekerja sama atau
pemecahan masalah dalam kelompok . Kedua , kadang-kadang home schooling
memiliki kurikulum pendidikan yang berbeda . Oleh karena itu orang tua harus
memilih orang yang memenuhi syarat sebagai guru , sehingga anak-anak
mendapatkan kurikulum yang tepat

Ada banyak keuntungan dan kerugian dari home schooling . Oleh karena itu
orang tua harus memastikan kemampuan anak-anak dan kualitas guru sebelum
mereka memutuskan untuk membuat anak-anak mereka bersekolah di rumah.

III. Explanation Text

Rainbow
Rainbow is a beautiful sight that is rarely found. This natural phenomenon is
an optical and meteorological phenomenon that forms the spectrum of the sky
due to the refraction of sunlight by rain or dew point in Earth's atmosphere.
Symptoms that can form a colorful bow. Phenomenon occurs only in the rain along
with the sun shining, and therefore the rainbow always appear directly opposite
the sun. While the refraction is a process diuraikannya a specific color into another
color (also called the color spectrum) through a particular medium.

Rainbow formed by the refraction of sunlight by water pressure in the

atmosphere. When sunlight through water droplets, the light is bent in such a way
that makes the colors that exist in a separate light. The sun itself has multiple
colors called polychromatic.

All colors of the rainbow produced by sunlight begins. Each color is bent at
different angles. The color red is the color most recently deflected while purple is
the color most first steered. Light that can be captured clearly by the human eye
there are only 7: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. Rainbow can be
observed when it rains and the sun shining from behind at low altitude.

The most amazing rainbow phenomenon will occur when the air a bit
overcast and there was light rain. When back to the sun, we will look at the
rainbow with clouds background, the colors will look clear and unequivocal. The
uniqueness of the rainbow is only visible shortly after the rain and sunshine
accompanied, usually occurs in the morning or late afternoon when the angle
between the sun and the earth is still low.

Pelangi adalah pemandangan indah yang jarang ditemukan . Fenomena
alam ini merupakan fenomena optik dan meteorologi yang membentuk spektrum
langit karena pembiasan cahaya matahari oleh hujan atau titik embun di atmosfer
bumi . Gejala yang dapat membentuk busur berwarna-warni . Fenomena hanya
terjadi dalam hujan bersama dengan bersinar matahari , dan karena itu pelangi
selalu muncul tepat di seberang matahari . Sementara refraksi adalah proses
diuraikannya satu warna tertentu menjadi warna lain ( juga disebut spektrum
warna ) melalui media tertentu.

Pelangi dibentuk oleh pembiasan cahaya matahari oleh tekanan air di

atmosfer . Ketika sinar matahari melalui tetesan air , cahaya dibengkokkan
sedemikian rupa yang membuat warna yang ada dalam cahaya yang terpisah .
Matahari sendiri memiliki beberapa warna yang disebut polikromatik.

Semua warna pelangi yang dihasilkan oleh sinar matahari dimulai . Setiap
warna yang membengkok pada sudut yang berbeda . Warna merah adalah warna
yang paling baru-baru ini dibelokkan sementara ungu adalah warna yang paling
pertama dikemudikan . Cahaya yang dapat ditangkap dengan jelas oleh mata
manusia hanya ada 7 : Merah, Orange , Kuning , Hijau, Biru , Indigo , Violet .
Rainbow dapat diamati saat hujan dan matahari bersinar dari belakang di
ketinggian rendah .

Fenomena pelangi yang paling menakjubkan akan terjadi saat udara agak
mendung dan ada hujan ringan . Ketika kembali ke matahari , kita akan melihat
pelangi dengan awan latar belakang, warna akan terlihat jelas dan tegas . Keunikan
pelangi hanya terlihat sesaat setelah hujan dan disertai sinar matahari , biasanya
terjadi pada pagi atau sore hari ketika sudut antara matahari dan bumi masih
rendah .
