Written test and/or I nterview Call letter for PhD Admission in the Discipline of
Mathematics , IIT Bhilai for the 2019-20-W Semester.
Dear Sahil Kakkar,
With reference to your application for admission to PhD Program in the Discipline o f Mathematics, IIT
Bhilai for the 2019-20-W Semester starting in Dec 2019, we are pleased to invite you to appear for a written test
and/or interview to be held on 04 December 2019, 09:00 AM onwards in the Academic Block, IIT Bhilai.
Please Note:

Admission to PhD program in 2019-20-W session is only under sponsored category.

NO institute fellowship will be provided for students under sponsored category.
 You have to report in said venue positively by 09:00 AM on 04 December 2019.

 The following certificates are required IN ORIGINAL at the time of written test and/or interview for
verification:
a. Degree/Diploma Certificates or provisional certificates from the competent authority of the
University/Institute/Board concerned for all the degree starting from Class 10.
b. Mark sheets/Grade Cards for all Semester examinations of the qualifying degree. Bringing only the
last semester mark sheet /grade card will not be sufficient.
c. OBC/EWS/SC/ST/PwD Certificate in prescribed format of Government of India, if applicable;
d. GATE / NET Score Card, if applicable
e. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) of CSIR/ UGC/ NBHM/ DBT/ ICAR/ ICMR/ ICPR or DST
INSPIRE Fellowship, if applicable;
f. Sponsorship Certificate, if applicable.

 You are also required to provide self-attested copies of all the above documents at the time of reporting.

 Note that mere call for w r i t t e n t e s t a n d interview does not guarantee you admission in any program
at IIT Bhilai.

 Kindly acknowledge the receipt of this letter and confirm whether you will be attending the written and/or
interview by e - mail to admissions@iitbhilai.ac.in before 20 November 2019.

 No TA/DA will be given to attend the written test/ interview.

 You must make sure that you are available on campus till 21:00hrs of 04 December 2019 for the
selection process and make travel arrangements accordingly.

 Syllabus for the written test will be same as that of GATE-2019 for Mathematics.
 The Institute reserves the right to withdraw the admission at any stage/ time, in case a candidate
does not fulfill the required qualification and/ or percentage of marks in qualifying degree
or supplies any false information.
 Details on how to reach the venue and on-campus accommodation are provided on the next page. Please
follow the instructions carefully.

 How to Reach Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai)

IIT Bhilai is currently operating from its transit campus in Government Engineering College
(GEC), Old Dhamtari Road, Sejbhahar, Raipur, C.G., 492015.

From Swami Vivekananda Airport, Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh (15 KM): IIT Bhilai campus
can be reached by any authorized or prepaid taxi available at Airport (nearly 30 mins). The charges
may be approximately Rs. 550/-.

From Raipur Railway Station (13 KM): Various transport possibilities like Auto rickshaw and
private cab can be used to reach IIT Bhilai directly. The charges may be approximately between Rs.
200/- to Rs. 300/-.

City Bus can be used for transport till Santoshi Nagar Bridge which is the nearest bus stop. From
there, transport (like auto rickshaw on sharing basis or personal) can be taken to reach IIT Bhilai.

From Other places in the city (within range of 12 to 16 KM): Pagaria Complex Bus Stand,
Pandri Bus Stand, Ghadi Chowk, Jaistambh Chowk, Telibandha are prominent points in Raipur city.
From each of these places, auto rickshaws and private cabs can be used to reach IIT Bhilai directly. The
charges may be approximately between Rs. 200/- to Rs. 300/-.

Boarding and Lodging Facilities

Outstation applicants may avail campus accommodation, subjected to availability and on first-
come first-serve basis only, against a nominal charge of Rs. 200/- per day, payable in cash/by card.
Accommodation will be provided only for the period from 2.00 pm, 2 nd December 2019 till 10.00
am, 5 th December 2019. The accommodation facility is strictly for the candidate, and is not available
for individuals accompanying them.
