HOW HARVARD CHANGED MY LIFE: Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Thursday,
November 28, was awarded by the Harvard Business School Owner/President Management (OPM)
Program for his “outstanding leadership” and “dedicated public service” as Mayor of the City of Manila,
at the Ascott Hotel BGC, Taguig.

During the event, Mayor Domagoso was invited to share his Harvard learning experience to his co-
alumni. “Yung Harvard, minulat niyan yung mata ‘ko. It gave me a new perspective on how to properly
govern your constituents.” the Mayor said.

He shared how difficulties in his life did not hinder him from learning, but rather strived against it. “Sabi
nila sakin noon (during the mayoralty race), ‘Ay wala yan, artista lang yan. Pacute-cute lang yan.’ Kaya
naman ako nag nais na mag-aral muli.” Since then, Mayor Domagoso had graduated from various
prestigious universities such as the University of the Philippines, the John F. Kennedy School of
Government at Harvard University, and at the Said Business School, University of Oxford.

At the end of his speech, he promised his co-alumni that he will be a good model of governance and
would do his best to improve the life of his constituents. He further enjoins them to help the City of
Manila on any way that they can. “Sisikapin ko na magiging maayos at di kahiya-hiya ang aking
pamamalakad sa lungsod ng Manila. Kanya inaanyayahan ko kayong lahat na tulungan natin ang
Maynila in any way that we can.”

He was also conferred as an honorary member of the Harvard Business School OPM Club of the
Philippines which is composed of successful CEOs, COOs, Presidents, and business owners who
promotes focus on leadership, innovation, and personal growth within their organizations.
