Weekly Progress Report (9/16-9/20)

Monday (9/16): Finished and turned in my resume rough draft as well as my initial contact list.
After class I went back and made corrections on my resume and added more contacts to my
initial contact list.

Tuesday (9/17): I went to target and walmart to purchase my binder and portfolio. I was not
able to find the clear tabs but will order them online instead.

Wednesday (9/18): Created my call scripts and email scripts. Adjusted them to where they
would fit me. Started practicing reciting the scripts and memorizing my research questions until I
was familiar enough with them.

Thursday (9/19): Started to find website for my research assessment #2. After I found my
website, I worked on the analysis. I finished the analysis and annotated the article I used.

Friday (9/20): Made finishing touches on the research assessment #2 and turned it in.
Practiced making calls and leaving voicemails. Continued to practice making calls and leaving
voicemails later that afternoon.

Upcoming Goals: My number 1 goal in the upcoming week is to get familiar enough with my
call scripts to where I can recite them confidently. Secondly, I also want to start memorizing my
research questions and also get familiar enough with them. I hope to later on make phone calls
to around 10-15 professional by the end of the week. Along with that, I wish to schedule 5-10
interviews. As business symposium is in the near future, I also need to get familiar with my
questions and work on my speaking skills.

Reflection: I believe my week was very productive. Especially since I was able to become more
confident with my scripts and my research questions, it made me feel as though I was more
prepared for business symposium. Going through the scenarios I might encounter at business
symposium in class on wednesday made me feel better about approaching professionals. In the
end, I thought that this week better prepared my to make phone calls for potential mentors as
well as prepared me for the upcoming business symposium.
