Analysis:

Whether you are currently a doctor, teacher, police officer, or engineer, there will always

be certain skills that can be related among these various professions. All of these professions

have one thing in common: they require the ability to adapt through the conflicts they may

encounter. There are always solutions offered that may help you improve your rate of success

in the professional world. In the article “7 Strategies to Build A Successful Career”, Eva Wislow

explains that there are 7 key aspects to overcoming these challenges which leads to success.

These 7 aspects will benefit anyone in the professional world, and even me through my current

life.

These 7 keys to success are meant to raise confidence levels and create a new mindset

that will allow people to take on whatever challenges their profession has to offer. The first tip

suggested is to Identify your goals. Making your goals clear and straightforward will give you

an idea of what you want to accomplish in a certain time span. If you have no goals set for

yourself, then there will be no motivation for you to accomplish your tasks and complete your

job. Secondly, it is important to build a professional resume. No matter where you are

applying for a job, you MUST walk in with a resume. A resume will highlight your strengths and

emphasize you accomplishments. It gives the person who is interviewing you a reason to hire

you. Your resume should separate you from the various other individuals who may be

attempting to earn the job. While it is important to have a resume, you do not want to use this

resume for all of your job interviews. It is important to personalize or edit your interview to suit
the environment of the job you are applying for. Make the resume help you stand out by

highlighting the specific skills you can contribute for a business that needs it. The next tip is to

become aware of your strengths. You need to be able to know what separates you from

others. Your personal strengths and characteristics will help you find a profession that suits you

the best. Your strengths are what will give your supervisors or coworkers an idea of what you

are good at and can contribute to the business. Also, you need to assume full responsibility

for your life. After all, you are responsible for the direction that your life leads you in. At a

certain stage in your life, it is important to realize that you cannot be dependent on someone or

something else, and that you need to take responsibility. It is important to not blame anyone for

your mistakes and to own your actions. These will help you grow as an individual and will

benefit you in the long run. The fifth tip presented is to always raise your standards. You need

to raise the bar and constantly create new goals for yourself. The bar you set for yourself

determines how far you can grow. If you constantly set the bar at the same level, you will never

pass that level. If you increase the bar, then you will be able to grow with it, and develop your

characteristics, skills, and personality. Moreover, it is necessary to brand yourself. Branding is

something that major companies are doing to create a name for themselves, and attract

customers that way. This method is something that people can use, too. Being able to create a

name for yourself in the workplace, and establishing your presence will allow others to see you.

Finally, the key aspect of networking will benefit you in a lot of ways. Meeting new people is a

way to expand your social network and develop your social skills. It will also help you to gain

new contacts which could help you in a variety of ways you may never know. Networking will

help you use other’s skills to your advantage.

These tips are something that I am able to apply in my current life. I believe it is

important to mark my weekly goals. Being able to visualize my goals on a whiteboard will

motivate me to accomplish them. These short term goals have a larger effect in the long run, as

all my goals will eventually lead me to hopefully becoming a Cardiologist. Also, I currently
possess multiple resumes, which I keep for different reasons such as applying for part time jobs

as a high school student, and for ISM. My general resume is a way for me to log my

accomplishments and highlight the different skills I can offer in a professional setting. My ISM

resume, on the other hand, allows me to stand out among the crowd, and highlights the skills

and accomplishments I have in relation to my career topic of Cardiology. I have found it

important to recognize my strengths as well, as those traits will lead me to having success

currently and in the future. These strengths of curiosity, hard work, and self-motivation have all

allowed me to select the field of Cardiology as my topic of choice. Therefore, I hope to capitalize

on those traits so that I will be able to forge my path to becoming a Cardiologist. Moreover, I

believe that assuming responsibility for my life, although may not be necessary currently as later

on in my life, is something that could be beneficial. Not relying on others assistance will train

yourself to depend only on one person: you. Being independent in this sense will allow for a

greater rate of success. In addition, constantly raising my standards has proved necessary for

improvement. I always plan to be better than before, whether I am playing tennis or writing an

essay. Making improvements and taking my skills to the next level will only benefit me and

prepare me to enter the professional world, where expectations are greater. Branding myself is

something I hope to continue to do. Whether it is by playing my part in the school community or

my local neighborhood, I always try to make a name for myself and hope that people will

recognize me for a positive impact I was able to contribute with. Lastly, networking is something

I constantly look forward to. Whether it was during business symposium, making phone calls, or

talking to students in the hallway, I find it important to be able to expand my social network.

Gaining contacts helps me to learn from others, and use their help when I may need it.

Therefore, I find it important to not only network, but to utilize all of these tips to find success in

the future.

Overall, these 7 tips offered in the article, have proved to be beneficial in the long run.

The result of utilizing these tips is what stood out to me. The difference of incorporating these
tips can have an unexpected, positive result. Exposing yourself to new ideas such as severing

your dependability on others can be helpful, but you will never know that unless you experience

it for yourself. These tips help the readers to find new opportunities in different forms, to find

success in their respective fields of work. Therefore, it is important to utilize these tips in order to

see a turnaround in the results of your work. These tips have also further influenced me to ask

questions such as “what steps could you take to create a name for yourself in the professional

world?”, and “in what ways does taking responsibility for your life further benefit you?”. These

questions are questions that I hope I will be able to find the answer through exposing myself to

the different challenges the professional world has to offer.

Overall, employing these traits in your daily life can only help develop you as a

professional. In order to have a better understanding of how to conquer challenges that lie in

front of you, following the tips offered in the article is necessary. The only way to develop

yourself is by exposing yourself to new ideas. As these tips have proved effective not only for

me but for a lot of people through their experiences, it is important to attempt to embed these

tips in our lives. If you want to find success within your profession, using these traits can assist

you to not only find success, but to develop you as a person. In the end, being able to

incorporate these tips into my life has proved effective as my results have positively changed

while setting me up for the future.

Having a successful career will offer you a lot of benefits and real profitable opportunities.

Everyone wants to be able to have a successful career, and reap the benefits you get from

having this success. As we live in a world governed by social status and money, working your

way up to the top will definitely improve your quality of life. There are many possible reasons

for which an individual would desire success.

I guess one of the reasons is that maybe by being successful in your professional life makes

you feel better among other people. It offers you a feeling of security and accomplishment.

Many people who went from zero to a successful career have reported that their lives were

improved in almost all the aspects. All people want to have this miracle occur for them, as

they want to share the benefits that these people’s lives were influenced by.

There are certain habits and activities that successful people from all over the world do. The

best way of approaching success is by following and figuring out what are the strategies that

professionals use, and model them according to your needs.

The following seven working strategies will give you enough boosts to improve your career.

This sentence leads to the truth behind having a successful career. Most people are attracted

at this point as they believe that these tips can change their work life.

1. Identify with Your Goals

Before even considering following a career route, you must get to know yourself. A big

majority of people go through life by following a well-established pattern. The sad part is,

they don't even like what they do or they just don't really realize how many other things they

could do.

In order to avoid this awful happening, you need to identify what are your biggest rational

wishes. Then, start going deeper and make an in-depth introspection in which you should

think about the connection between your inner desires and your rational goals. Your desires

will always correlate with your goals, regardless of how wild they might be. Your desires and

intentions are your motivations to accomplish these goals.

They have to match. Otherwise, you will not be truly fulfilled with your professional life.

Identifying with your goals takes some time and effort, but it is a truly important process in

any successful person's journey.

2. Build a Professional Resume

Your resume is basically your way of saying "I'm good at this, good at that, and I can help by

doing this and that.'' Well, that is why you should create a professional, neat resume.

By taking care of this aspect, you are making sure that you'll never be caught off guard.

Opportunities are everywhere, and you should always be ready with a quality resume. Having

a resume will give you a chance to capitalize on these opportunities and seize them to your

advantage, which will benefit you in the long run. I believe that letting professionals deal with

your resume is a productive choice.

There are some amazing services like Careers Booster or VisualCV that can take care of your

problem. They can help you to create a classic or an impressive visual resume.

3. Become Aware of Your Strengths

Awareness is an essential key to personal improvement. By being aware of your inner

thoughts, your strengths, your desires, and your disadvantages, you can adapt your life to

whatever conditions you're being put through. You'll also get many benefits as you can

leverage your knowledge and wisdom for the best purposes.

It's better if you choose your long term profession according to what you know about yourself.

Your strengths are what will guide you to your future profession. Often times they are related

to what you want to be able to do in your future, as my curiosity and a love for science has

motivated me to want to become a cardiologist. Are you a patient person? Would you be able

to sit eight to twelve hours in an office working on a computer? Or you'd rather be a football

coach because you're truly passionate about football and you believe you could be an

efficient trainer?

No matter your strengths and disadvantages, you should choose a career path that

advantages your traits and qualities.

4. Assume Full Responsibility for Your Life

One difference between mediocre and successful professionals: responsibility. This sentence

serves as a key to what people want to hear. One small thing with a large effect is

responsibility. Everyone wants to be a successful professional, and therefore realize how

important it is to be responsible. Even though you know the concept, you may not apply it

every day. Whenever something bad happens, you need to assume it.

Even if you haven't done anything wrong, being there, the previous choices you've made (like

trusting someone), these are still all factors which have been influenced by your thoughts and

actions.
Start assuming responsibility for all of your actions and never blame anyone for your

mistakes. That's the worst thing someone can do. Do not take things personally, and be calm.

5. Always Raise Your Standards

Here's another critical factor which differentiates the successful from the non-successful.

Your standards influence the way you think, believe, and behave. If your standards are high,

you'll never be satisfied with less than you can accomplish. People with high standards are

most of the times more successful than the average. Having high standards will only help you

accomplish the things you want to get better at. It will motivate you to do great things, and

success comes with it.

Every two or three months take a moment to reflect upon your standards and values. Try to

improve them bit by bit up until you realize that you've become the best version of yourself.

6. Brand Yourself

Branding is very important nowadays. Big companies are spending hundreds of millions in

order to establish themselves as the "big dogs" in the marketplace. It is an old business

strategy used by almost every professional company. Your branding is your image in the
marketplace. Although it doesn’t seem important, having a name for yourself is important as

it helps to build your reputation and gives people a perspective on you.

Professional employees should brand their names and services and constantly improve it. You

can do that by starting a blog, creating a professional social media profile, or simply by

providing awesome services.

7. Network -- A LOT

Networking is all about opportunities and connections. When you meet new people, you

basically get a chance to use their skills to your advantage. This point stands out to me, as

using other’s skills to help you can only benefit you and will allow you to be successful. Of

course, you must also give back something: your services, your knowledge, your money.

Successful people always network and create those life-lasting profitable relationships.

Start by creating social media profiles on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. These three

specific networks are the best choices when it comes to this type of activity. You'll find lots of

opportunities and career choices along the way.

LinkedIn, for example, is filled with business professionals that are branding their companies

and also networking at the same time. Twitter is also very used in these matters, and

Facebook... Facebook is good for everything, including networking.

Conclusion

Building a successful career takes time, effort, and patience. If you're willing to sacrifice some

free time and you're willing to get out of your comfort zone, you will succeed. This sentence is

the overall theme of the story, if you are willing to implement these tips into your life, the

results will explain themselves. It's not that hard, honestly. It just takes courage and

commitment to follow everything that you've targeted.
