T he University relies on digital media, Internet and free-to-air satellite television broadcasts to impart
educa on. The University has its own four television channels (VTV1, VTV2, VTV3 & VTV4) and students have the
liberty to watch their lectures in the comfortable surroundings of their homes which become virtual classrooms of
VU or at any of the many VU campuses spread all over the country. These lectures are also available in DVD format
and can easily be purchased at a minimal cost from University’s on-line Bookshop (h p://bookshop.vu.edu.pk).
The lecture videos are also available on the globally popular forum YouTube site with a weblink

T he topic of the speech compe on was “Freedom of speech-right or wrong”. The English &
Urdu Speech Compe ons were judged by Mr. Ahsin Im az and Ms. Saliha Aqeel. There were
nine contestants for Urdu Speech and 8 for English speech compe on. The par cipants
spoke very well, while their supporters cheered for them throughout the compe ons.

G ala Dinner was held in the mesmerizing evening of Lahore on November 02, 2016 at Virtual
University Head Office. Mr. Muhammad Zaheer, chief organizer in his opening remarks welcomed
the students and guests from all over Pakistan, he lauded the efforts of organizers in conduc ng the
student week ac vi es. Mr. Owais Anjum played the role of energizing host of the event. The
colorful environment was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere of students.
Various performances at gala dinner included, Mesmerizing singing of Mr. Husnain Shakeel, Mr.
Hamza Baig and A musical Band of students, a Mime on terrorism presented by students of
Faisalabad, a mimicry performance by Mr. Hamza Baig, a student from Multan campus and a Hip Hop
dance performance by Syed Anas from Karachi campus.
At the end, Prof. Dr. Muhamamd Nawaz addressed the students and appreciated their ac ve
par cipa on.
