Safety Conditions
WARNING
The Cleaning solvent (C010) is a dangerous material. Before you do this procedure,
make sure that you know all the safety precautions and first aid instructions for the
solvent.

CAUTION
This component is a critical part. Be careful when you do work on the component
after removal from the helicopter. A damage to the component can occur if you are
not careful. Refer to 39-A-00-60-00-00A-010A-A.

Procedure

1 Put the Platform, right (GG-02-00) adjacent to the right side of the tail rotor.

2 Cut and remove the wires from the eight bolts (5, Figure 1 ). Discard the wires.

3 Cut and remove the wires from the eight nuts (6). Discard the wires.

4 Remove the old corrosion inhibitor from the parts that follow with the Lint-free cloth (C011)
and the Cleaning solvent (C010) :
- The eight bolts (5)
- The eight nuts (6).

5 Fully loosen the eight nuts (6).

Note
Do not release the torque of one bolt fully. This is because this procedure can cause
damage to the other remaining bolts.
6 Carefully loosen each of the eight bolts (5) by 1/8 of turn at a time. Obey the sequence shown
in Detail A of Figure 1 until you get zero torque. Use the Socket wrench, TR (GJ-19-01) (part
of the Tool kit, special wrench (GJ-19-00) ).

7 Remove the eight bolts (5) with the eight nuts (6) from the locking flange (4).

8 Remove each of the eight nuts (6) from the related bolt (5).

9 Remove the locking flange (4) from the locknut (1).

Note
When you do Step 10 thru Step 13 that follow, refer also to Figure 2 .
10 Install the components of the Rem/inst tool, slider bushing removal (GF-87-01) (part of the
Rem/inst tool, slider bushing (GF-87-00) ) on the slider bushing (3) (P/N 3G6430V00253).

11 Install the components of the Rem/inst tool, slider bushing removal (GJ-62-01) (part of the
Rem/inst tool, slider bushing (GJ-62-00) ) into the slider bushing (3) (P/N 3G6430L00251).

12 Install the guide of the removal tool on the slider bushing (3) with the parts that follow:
- The washer
- The nut
- The reaction
- The two thrust washers
- The roller bearing
- The nut.

13 Turn the guide of the removal tool with the handle until the slider bushing (3) comes out of the
shaft (2).

14 Remove the removal tool with the slider bushing (3, Figure 1 ) from the shaft (2).

1 Install the slider bushing. Refer to 39-A-64-31-06-00A-720A-A
