right in the calculated time.

The purpose in writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment that given by Ms. Mahya
Humaira as lecturer in Morphology major. And also we say thanks to:

2. Someone who always in our heart, thank you for your loyalty and advice as well as
the motivation that given.
3. All of the party that we could not mention one by one who helps in the process of

CHAPTER I: INTRODUCTION

A. Background of the Study


Language in the world are so varieties, one of many languages’ varieties is
Sunda Language. Sunda Language has its own unique. It is why there’s so many
people want to learn it, even the foreign ones. In this time we tried to ask some
sundanese people a sunda sentence and translate it into Bahasa. We want to what else
the Sunda Language and how the Sunda Language form in the sentence.

B. Problem of the Study


1. What is the definition of Sentence?
2. What else the manners in the Sunda Language?

C. Significance of the Study


1. To get known the definition of Sentence.
2. To get known the manners in the Sunda Language.

CHAPTER II: DISCUSSION

A. The Definition of Sentence


Sentence is a set of words that is complete in itself, typically containing a
subject and predicate, conveying a statement, question, exclamation or command and
consisting of a main clause and sometimes one or more subordinate clauses. Every
languages’ sentence has the structure that is just said above.

B. The Manners in the Sunda Language


The manners known in the Sunda Language or usually called Undak Usuk
Basa Sunda (UUBS) generally separated into two kinds, which is Basa Hormat/Lemes
(Soft Language) and Basa Loma (Rude Language). Both of manners have its own
types, here it is:
1. Types of Basa Hormat
Just like its name, this type of language is used to show a respect. The soft
language chooses depends on related subject. There’s a six types, which
are:
a. Basa Lemes Pisan Type
This type of language usually used to a noble.
b. Basa Lemes keur Batur Type
This type of language usually used to an older person.
c. Basa Lemes keur Pribadi/Sedeng Type
This type of language usually used especially for itself.
d. Basa Lemes Kagok/Panengah Type
This type of language usually used in the newspaper.
e. Basa Lemes Kampung/Dusun Type
This type of language usually used in local community of Sunda and
not used in the formal situation.
f. Basa Lemes Budak Type
This type of language usually used to communicate with children.

2. Types of Basa Loma
Usually called rude language, actually not defined as automatically rude to
banish the respect element. But, this type of language is used in a friends’
circle. There’s two types of Basa Loma, here it is:
a. Basa Lama (Close) Type
This type of language is used in the closed friends’ circle.
b. Basa Garihal/Songong (Very Rude) Type
This type of language is used to animal object or in fury condition.

CHAPTER III: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This research used a qualitative method. The investigation of this research did with
deeper and detailed to discover a clear description to sentence in a Sunda language. So that’s
why, this research is a descriptive research because the data resulted from the research not a
numbers but a words.

CHAPTER V: CONCLUSIONS

From the result of the research we can conclude that in the Sunda Language had a
manners’ language. Every manner has its own unique and types so we can different it and it’s
a manner that usually Sunda people did while in the daily conversation. And the Sunda
language is unique with a different word different meaning. That shows us that Indonesia has
many culture and language. We must proud of it.
