COURSE SYLLABUS
cite the postulates of cell theory and roles of a cell in an organism, particularly
in the levels of organization of an organism.
determine the functions of major components found in all cell types.
identify the similarities and differences between major cell types.
explain why mitosis/meiosis is crucial vin maintenance of chromosomal integrity
of the organism.
identify the draw basic building blocks of the four major classes of biological
molecules.
enumerate possible diseases/disorders caused by lack or excess of biological
molecules.
explain how energy is stored/produced during ATP synthesis/breakdown.
explain importance of photosynthesis in an ecosystem.
describe the major features and chemical events in the three stages of cellular
respiration.
1. LECTURE. Lecture method shall be the primary teaching strategy to be considered in the
class. The class shall be provided learning modules for the semester. Lecture shall be
done through the aid of classroom smart televisions, projectors and video presentations.
Computer-aided instruction shall likewise be utilized to develop the students’ abilities in
the use of IT.
3. GROUP/INDIVIDUAL REPORTING. The strategy will help the students to enhance their
presentation skill. It is an avenue for the students to learn how to present the assigned
topics. Reports should include current issue or related actual case in the business to make
the topic assigned to them more interesting.
